I would think the same thing. We don't have online sales in my state and I have wondered how that works. If someone buys a ticket online, do they get a copy of the actual numbers that were on the ticket? If so, they can be checked. I think online sales would help a lot. In the cases where people were contacted via email, at least the winner eventually realized it was legitimate. It costs the lottery far less time and effort and money to reach a known person vs advertising for an unclaimed ticket.

Its just what I am used to and I like having the actual ticket in my hand. I live in a city with a lot of places within walking distance of my house.
