The (next) BILLION $ question:
With the Mega Millions jackpot at half a billion dollars it is finally attracting attention and growing. The most recent jackpot increase was 19% over last draw. Powerball's most recent increase over last draw was 12%. Based on the current MM jackpot amount, if it were to continue to roll, it should easily reach one billion before the PB jackpot would. However, if given jackpots of equivelant levels it appears PB edges MM in jackpot increases. Current runs; MM Jackpot (in millions) Jackpo

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
This is going to take awhile to answer this, but I'll do my best to break it down for you. The reason I say it's very predictable especially off the front is due to the way the machines print the first prize or the way these are ordered. To answer this fully you have to understand how they order these games and how they are shipped. Also, if you fully want to know when they post a top prize drive to the store or call it to get the book number information. This is how I figured out how predictabl

State lawmaker calls for Illinois Lottery probe in light of audit findings
Lottery head resigns, another possible winner payout shutdown looms A state lawmaker is calling for an investigation of the Illinois Lottery after a recent audit revealed it had violated the state finance law. The audit found that the Lottery circumvented the state's budget impasse by prepaying $20 million to take part in future multi-state lottery games, such as Powerball and Mega Millions. State Rep. Jack Franks, D-Marengo, said he wants either Illinois State Attorney General Lisa Mad

So, what would you do?
One of the things that irritates me is how the media always says that most lottery winners go broke in 5 years. That is so not the truth! Most lottery winners you never hear from because they are living their lives, enjoying their wealth and staying out of the media. You don t hear from them because there is nothing to report. They have their winnings and they simply move on with living (just in a higher tax bracket). The ones who end up in the news are the ones who are reckless with th

Consultant lays out 'ambitious' vision for Arkansas Lottery
A consultant for the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery envisions ticket sales steadily increasing from $450 million in the current fiscal year to $615 million by fiscal 2021 and net proceeds for scholarships rising from $85 million to $109 million in the same period. Camelot Global Services' self-described ambitious five-year business plan proposes many changes, including overhauling the portfolio of scratch-off and draw-game tickets, increasing the lottery's $5 million marketing budget to $7.5 mi

How a group of MIT students gamed the Massachusetts Lottery
Even within a university as famously offbeat as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Random Hall has a reputation for being a little quirky. According to campus legend, the students who first lived there in 1968 wanted to call the dorm Random House until the publishing house with that same name sent them a letter to object. The individual floors have names, too. One is called Destiny, a result of its cash-strapped inhabitants selling the naming rights on eBay; the winning bid was $36 from

Jury: Lottery winner must pay ex-boyfriend part of winnings
A jury Thursday ruled that a former middle school teacher who won a $1 million lottery jackpot must pay $291,000 to her former sweetheart, who testified that he handed her the money to buy the winning ticket. Lynn Poirier, 62, claimed the prize in 2007. Her live-in boyfriend, Howard Browning, 62, sued her a few months later, claiming they had a long-standing agreement: If one of them won a major lottery prize, they'd split it 50-50. But Poirier gave jurors a very different version of event

Maine gives names of Hot Lotto winners to Iowa team looking into rigging scheme
The names of Mainers who won cash prizes in the Hot Lotto game between 2010 and 2014 have been forwarded to Iowa officials investigating a burgeoning jackpot fixing case that may have affected winnings in at least five states. Officials with the Maine State Lottery said Hot Lotto winners and prize amounts were shared with the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations. Another Example - Where It's Best Just To Get QPs
Well that is amazing that someone would actually play or pick numbers with such a small spread ... as maringoman mentioned earlier. I can't find that information but being in TX you were able to ... thanks for posting. Wonder how long they were playing that set of numbers ... months, years? It's crazy... 59 numbers and that small spread. Someone mentioned about a bunch of winners in PA on a game ... there were two hits where the jackpots were split by many winning tickets ... that I kno

Virginia Lottery turns over more than a half-billion dollars to education
For just the second time in its history, the Virginia Lottery has delivered more than a half-billion dollars to Virginia's K-12 public schools in a single fiscal year. The Lottery announced today that profits for the 2015 fiscal year totaled nearly $534 million. It wasn't just education in the Commonwealth that benefited. Players raked in a record $1.1 billion in prizes during the year, and retailers selling Virginia Lottery tickets earned nearly $104 million in commissions a record. Many of
