The Messenger and Looking Forward to the Fall
While I'm notoriously bad about keeping score, I am equally infinitely inquisitive to balance things out. I will never cease to wonder why certain numbers resonate or radiate in my life and continue to do so seemingly against the odds. It's this kind of stuff that can drive you slightly mad. Since this original post early in the a.m. of the 29th thru the 3rd, I must say I am disappointed with the fallout overall. Of 22 numbers I specifically talked about, there were at least 7 play-4 hits, in

Determinism vs Randomness and Chance
Jimmy4164: You provide some interesting links. Thanks. But you included the hope those links would provide assistance investigating 'the issues'. The issues here are lottery draws and whatever lottery draw results testify about themselves. How they apply, or don't apply to larger issues isn't a factor. A scientist formulates theory based on evidence examined. All the evidence involving lottery draws is found in lottery draws. Anyone can examine those draws and decide from them whether there i

Lets Dream
This is truly fascinating. Yes, I don't understand the rationale behind your concepts but that doesn't mean they are not of interest to me. Let's look at the simplest and I would say thereby most difficult to develop a rationale for and that is the bonus ball. It's a single draw from a pool of numbers. There's very little sample size for any meaningful statistics (that can be said about lotteries in general) and the only possible source of bias would be the sensitivity to boundary conditions

Ontario store employee charged with stealing lottery prizes
Good folks in the LP>> As Americans and Canadians on this big North American continent that our ancesters built for us to use, we come from descent law abiding families with good civil intentions of holding respect for everyday life and the people in it, there is a problem to solve. This note is intended for those who are on the fence and about to do something stupid that will affect the rest of their lives and perhaps your victims too! Don't you know by now [as in wake-up] that our

Oregon Lottery trying to shut down 'casino delis'
Across Oregon, delis that seem to specialize in lottery more than lunch pose a dilemma. The businesses generate profits to the owners and the Oregon Lottery, supplying an increasingly vital portion of the state general-fund budget. But critics say these establishments cause more social ills and violate a state constitutional prohibition of lottery casinos. These are casinos doing business under the guise of being a restaurant, a tavern, said David Leslie, executive director of Ecumenica

I give up ! ILL ...4 doubles in a row
Good afternoon, WIN D. I did some checking on this subject, while updating my AZ, CA and CT versabet databases. In the process of updating CT eve, I discovered this: My apologies for the somewhat confusing presentation, (forget the chart LOL I couldn't get it to post correctly, but you can take my word for it, or check CT's recent draw history here: http://www.betslips.com/pastnumbers.aspx?state=CT The stats below should be accurate) but I hope you'll be able to see that digits

Is it ok for Public Officials to Play the Lottery?
I would hope Bob that the general public is not that stiff in their thinking any more so as to hold a hobby like that against you. It could depend on how heavily the religious faction is imbedded in the community where you are running. It is kinda like when you start a business, you need or should take stock of who your competition is so you can market the business in a meaningful way. I was involved last year in such a situation which turned out great. However, to win, it required a c

Wisconsin factory workers win $208M Powerball lottery
We are making this Waaaay too complicated. Lotteries have cash. If the winners want the annuity, then the lottery invests the cash, pre-tax, and puts the cash and the interest earnings together to come up with the annuity amount (the amount paid over time). The annuity is estimated based on current quotes but can't be known until bids to buy the securitites (which doesn't happen unless a winner wants the annuity). OK, I guess it is complicated. If the annuity is $208.6 million an

Illinois Lottery exploring Internet sales again
Could keno be out and Internet lottery in?A proposal from last spring to authorize Internet sales of Illinois lottery tickets popped up again Thursday, a week after Gov. Rod Blagojevich unveiled a controversial initiative to include keno in the lottery as a way to finance school construction bonds.A Blagojevich spokeswoman said the governor was not backing off the keno proposal but seemed to hedge her bets. We are willing to consider other ideas from the General Assembly, Rebecca Rausch said.Th
