WA lottery launches "My Lottery 360°"
There are some new changes with this new program or whatever you want to call it. Obviously most of you are not in the jurisdiction so it won't affect you directly. There are changes occurring to the app and ticket scanning. Draw tickets are now printing out with a different barcode, similar to scratch ticket barcodes if not the same. Previously they were QR codes on draw tickets that could be scanned with the app. The QR code only contained the tickets number selection(s) and there was not a

Buy only winning scratch offs in Minnesota with my help!
This is for Minnesota ONLY at this time. Texas and California coming soon. 1.) Visit a MN lottery retailer, let them know you want to see the backs of some tickets before you buy them. You can tell them you only like to buy lucky tickets with certain numbers contained in the codes. What you need is the 20 digit code below the barcode. Sometimes the tickets are placed below the counter, etc. You can hand them your mobile phone to take pictures of a few tickets. I like to do only the $10+ ticke

Post your scratch ticket results
Played the LFL game again today - hit my fav Publix for 8 tix - then over to Sweetbay for 7. Got this $500 from Publix - plus a couple smaller wins from both places for a total of $645. Man these were hard to scratch - just like the other ones from a week or so ago. Must be from the same outfit that printed BDB. I used to talk here about Big Jim buying his one a day tick ...... I saw him at Publix today and I don't know how he does it - he hit $1K on 100X and a few weeks ago got a GRT $500 Nu

Store Clerk Playing Unfair? Is This Legal?
It might have appeared that way ronnie, but there is no real way for clerks to do this (scroll up in this thread for more info). If it were the case, then clerks all over the country would be able to scan these and find big winners, then quit their jobs or live very comfortably. To scan and see a scratch off as a big winner, certain codes or numbers on the front of the code must be scanned and/or entered. That being said, if you ever buy a scratcher that already has numbers or codes scr

Maryland Lottery and Baltimore Ravens team for another scratch game
The Maryland Lottery and Baltimore Ravens have renewed their partnership and will release a new Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off on August 9th. The Maryland Lottery was one of the first lotteries in the country to partner with the NFL, following a decades-long, no-gambling policy that was overturned by NFL owners in 2009. The original ticket, which was released last August, holds the distinction of being the best-selling $5 scratch-off ever sold by the Maryland Lottery. The new $5 Ravens Ca

Can I get some help with online lottery tax info
The reason the IRS code doesn't tax gambling winnings under $600 is because the millions of lesser amount scratch-offs and other winners. Do you really believe there would be any lottery, casino slot machines, or pari-mutual race betting if every time someone won $2 they had to record the winnings or fill out a tax form to get their winnings? The paperwork would be a nightmare. The tax codes allow us to deduct gambling losses and it applies to winnings under $600 too. If you have ever done an

Florida Lottery Misprint Scratch Off
The laws governing state lotteries usually dictate that the ticket validation codes are what determine winners, not any matching play numbers or symbols in the play area. In fact some state lottery regulations will have language that says something to the effect that the scratch game itself (scratching off the prize numbers and symbols) are for entertainment purposes only . That also means if a rare situation arose where no numbers matched prizes and the ticket appeared to be a loser then if the

Florida Lottery won't pay $500,000 winner, called 'misprint'
Technically, it's not what is printed on the game portion of the ticket that matters. What counts is the ticket ID# (or barcode) number and verification code or codes when compared to the lottery's list of winners. With that in mind, it is best to have all "losing" tickets checked. This also brings up a question of liability on the part of the ticket printing company, although their liability may be limited only to the cost of the ticket. Maybe this person could round up a few thousand los

do the lotteries have people researching systems and methods?
Most state lottery commissions have investigators similar to the Nevada Gaming Commission but their jobs are mostly to respond to instant scratch-off complaints. They also investigate incidents like the night there were over 50 winning Buckeye 5 tickets sold in Ohio. One player bought over 50 tickets on the same combination and the clerk didn't know there was a $1 million payoff limit. I don't know how much of the $1 million he got, but they did give $100,000 to the person with 1 winning ticket.
