Maryland Mega Millions winners claim prize anonymously
1. The lottery is one of the most heavily scrutinized government programs ever. Look around here you will see winners faces, all but.. I'm gonna say one, Brad Duke, has a bad lottery story. 2. You can claim in a trust, LLC, partnership probaly a few others. The claiming trust might be tracked to its source but you can form more than one trust. You can afford it now. You really look down on spending $1 or $2 on a ticket? It's a high risk investment, yeah, but it has tens of millions to billion

$50M Lotto winner a no-show for celebration
It can be hard to tell who is more impacted by a $50 million lottery ticket. Richard McMullen, the 54-year old Tallahassee resident and jackpot winner, has stayed out of the public eye since the lottery results were announced last week. Florida Lottery officials said he has requested minimal media coverage. The Circle K where he bought the multi-million-dollar ticket, on the other hand, hasn't stopped buzzing with attention and customers hoping for lightning to strike a second time. It

Giving away PB/MM Tickets
You made no mention of federal tax. I said I know the taxes are taken out but I was going to an extreme to make a point. You playing for someone else implies at least some kind of partnership or sharing the wealth, however the way you're describing it is one and only one of the partners pays the tax. Read savagegoose's post, you would setiously be better offc playing the same numbers on both tickets.

HiJinx @ Craps Cost Wynn $700K + Letting It Slide Info
Leo is a member of Team PokerStars though not exactly a famous name. Greg Raymer was a high profile member and quit his affiliation a month or two before the chips hit the fan on April 15. Being a lawyer, maybe he questioned the legality of U.S. player accounts. PokerStars did payoff all the U.S. players so their problems are nothing compared to Full Tilt. Steve Wynn formed a partnership with PokerStars for U.S. online poker when Congress ever gets around to passing the bill. Don't know th

Minnesota couple claims $229M Powerball lottery jackpot
I guess the key here is that they indicated they have not decided annuity or cash. They have the luxury to claim fast, but hold off on the decision until they have consulted with whoever they decide to consult, AND go into semi-hiding. This does null claiming in a trust or limited family partnership. I still think they should have consulted first, after putting the ticket in either a bank lock box or fire proof safe. I won't claim until I know I can afford to go into hiding, assuming I can't

Powerball lottery jackpot increased to $180 million
B.1) Get a good estate attorney B.2) Get a good CPA Makes a nice trifecta for finance, legal/estate, taxes. Also consider a Family Limited Partnership to claim the funds rather than a trust. A good estate atty can advise you on the differences in your particular state. In regards to claiming in a trust name, your personal name will also be released in most cases as we've seen before.

Missouri Senate to discuss privatizing state lottery
That's what I thought at first too, because the media always wrote about selling the lottery , but in fact they're not selling the lottery outright. In fact, it probably would be against the law to do so. They are selling a contract for running (operating) the lottery. The government puts the contract out for bid, and evaluates all the companies to see who does the best job while returning the best profit. That's the process Illinois completed, and they awarded a ten-year contract to three co

Washington Lottery prizes in search of owners
Yet another reason to extend claim period to 365 days ... as most states have provided. When a retailer wins their partnership monies from a jackpot win, it would be so easy for them to get a big colored piece of construction paper and write on it that there is an unclaimed winning ticket that was purchased at their store on such and such date and won on such and such date. Also, it would be good if all churches, newspapers, and radio stations received this feed/information and would run the

Store clerk is winner of $258.5M Powerball lottery jackpot
To help with calculations for when you soon win your multi-state, multi-million dollar jackpot, I thought I would notify you about the error you took away from the report. You wrote: But on the other hand a report i read said the income tax is only going to be 6 million. NO, NO, NO ... it will be apx. $48.54 million total fed and state income tax paid (figure apx. 34.9% ALWAYS for Federal tax, AND additionally, Missouri charges 4% as a state tax= 38.9%). I wasn't sure if anyone else would mentio

But I don't want an injection to collect my Powerball!! arrrgh!
Yeah this is a line of crap or your are VERY gullible, maybe both. Have you ever me this idiot? Sounds to me like some type of Nigerian scam hiding under the guise of a lottery partnership. He is probably actually in Africa already. Sounds like he needs a lethal injection... My advice? Don't ever pool with anyone far away, or anyone period for that matter. It just isn't worth the risk of a once in a lifetime jackpot. Bite the bullet yourself, you will be glad you did when you win big. Being c
