(Just For fun)- You part of a pool where one of the members decides...
With the folks in my pool, that would never in a million years happen! LOL. As far as the lottery splitting the money, in Texas they only pay one entity, not several. So we would have to form a legal partnership before claiming if we ever get so lucky.

22 N.Y. coworkers' complicated journey to claim $1 million prize
Texas will issue 1 check to one individual, or one group. So if my group ever wins we would have to create an LLC, or some type of partnership. If we win millions...I'm ok with that.

Woman who let Powerball winner go ahead of her has no regrets
Some people here are acting as if when you stand in line to buy lottery tickets a temporary partnership is assumed if you or the person in front or back of you wins a jackpot. It's as silly as bums loitering around the counters of stores selling lottery tickets when the jackpots get high telling customers remember me if you win .

5 Reasons You Don't Really Want to Win all that Lottery Money
Yeah this is a good one. It could cause the rest to happen. If you have a Dr. Jekyll\ Mr. Hyde complex, having $100 million fall in your lap can make him appear. The personal safety issue is why If I win I'm claiming in a trust LLC partnership etc. anything to keep my name and face out of newspapers. Anonymity is better than a whole security firm.

$200M Powerball lottery jackpot won by N.Y. Costco workers
Here in Tx, the Lottery Commission will issue only one check...there is only one winner. So, it would be necessary for the group to hire an attorney and form a legal partnership. From there, I imagine the group has a bank account in which the money is deposited and then each member can withdraw his or her share. I haven't researched it completely, but I do know that I would not claim the ticket myself because the tax liability would be on me.

If you have to appear on either Oprah or The Lottery Changed My Life...
Here's the woman I wrote about earlier, the caption says she's the Partnership Representative but we all know she's the winner. This is a textbook case on how to claim your prize in a state that requires winners to show up to a press conference, with your lawyer and in a disguise. Luckily my state doesn't require winners to have a press conference.

Maryland Lottery and Baltimore Ravens team for another scratch game
The Maryland Lottery and Baltimore Ravens have renewed their partnership and will release a new Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off on August 9th. The Maryland Lottery was one of the first lotteries in the country to partner with the NFL, following a decades-long, no-gambling policy that was overturned by NFL owners in 2009. The original ticket, which was released last August, holds the distinction of being the best-selling $5 scratch-off ever sold by the Maryland Lottery. The new $5 Ravens Ca

Sisters' lottery jackpot trial begins today
The lottery numbers that sisters Theresa Sokaitis and Rose Bakaysa had played together for years finally paid off in 2005, yielding a $500,000 Powerball jackpot. But for whom? Sokaitis, 84, of Middletown, Connecticut, claims she never saw a dime of that money and sued her older sister. This morning, their dispute over the jackpot will go to trial before a judge at Superior Court in New Britain. I love my sister and I feel bad this is all getting dragged into court, but I have children
