hey, is there any one familiar with regist lottery club as a business? as a limited liability limited partnership to be exact.or if any one can recommend a lawyer in Boston who is specialized in small business registration.Thanks!I am still working on trying to decode the lottery ticket barcode. Is a partnership or trust the only way to share a single ticket? If I split a ticket with a friend, would the lottery agree to split it into 2 checks, and then is the IRS okay with each person paying separate taxes?

There is a $10,000 maximum for tax-free gifts to your friends and family members. If you don't share equal parts with all the members of your group, it will be considered a gift. An easy way to overcome this is to create a partnership or an LLC. If you win the big bucks you could incorporate and give any number of shares to your buddies and relatives. But check with your specific state guidelines, some States do not allow this.

you may want to do your homework on this one rock and either call for help or search the net. its a pretty long discussion. i also believe that couple from new jersey who won the big game formed a Limited Partnership. i could be wrong on that though. there are many ways to protect yourself rock. dont worry about it so much. thats why you pay the lawyers so they do all the work for you.
