$191 million Louisiana Powerball lottery winner claims prize
I guess things are different down in Louisiana (at least, I hope they are, for their sake; hope their attorney's up to snuff). Here in Washington State, the only way to shield the names of entity members would be to do a blind trust, as partnership documents (including names of members) are listed online.

NJ family of 8 claims $429.6 million Powerball lottery jackpot
prm199, i am with you on this one. I believe the Smiths are making a big mistake and violating the gift tax rule. Don't they have to prove that this was a partnership before they are allowed to split the prize equally? Aren't they going to be subject to the gift tax rule? It's gonna be hard to prove to the IRS that they had a partnership and that everyone was contributing to play the lottery when the Mom says she never gambles playing the lottery . However, they won't say who dreamt the

Montana's $1M lottery raffle winner sued for half of prize
Mike Hess bought 3 tickets, gave one to Jeff and then they agreed to split any wins on the three tickets (including the two he kept for himself)? It sounds absurd and Jeff's lawyer will exploit that. Jeff can easily claim there was no partnership and the ticket was just a gift. The witnesses memory of the exact words used will be key to deciding this one.

(Just For fun)- You part of a pool where one of the members decides...
absolutely! More specifics are definitely needed here. Seems to me that if you don't approach these lottery pools like a business partnership you're destined to end up in court...as many of them do. Everything has to be clear cut and put in writing.

Connecticut Lottery launches 5 Card Cash
The 2014 Kentucky Derby with California Chrome winning the race was much more exciting given that the owners, Steve Coburn and Perry Martin only paid $10,000. for the horse and were also offered $6 million for a 51% partnership but declined the offer, is one amazing event in gambling history. Congratulations to them and the Trainer, Art Sherman, age 77, his second K.D. winning and oldest trainer, and the Jockey, Victor Espinoza. What an exciting event to have watched.

How many Pick 3 tickets do you play daily?
I posted a simulation on my LP blog for a heavy-duty play - 56 tickets per day for 1-draw-a-day Pick 3. I believe that if you want to win more frequently (and perhaps make money - i.e. come out with a profit at the end of a month) you have to invest a bit. Perhaps risky strategy but I don't see other realistic alternatives. Partnership with 1 or 2 would spread the risk and make the strategy more affordable for all.

Dallas Cowboys continue partnership with Texas Lottery
Some second chance drawings offer cash, but this promotion is a partnership with the Dallas Cowboys who apparently are providing the second chance prizes. Do you always get paid cash or merchandise for your losing tickets or do you usually throw them into the trash?
