N.J. store clerk buys old workplace after lottery win
Yes my fault. Partnership and put in writing. Get as much commission and stay out of business operations. As long as the location is doing fine find other places and do a major partnership.

Is this legal?
Very simple, my dear watson. You both form a Limited partnership in Florida with an address in Florida(legal). You then open a bank account in the name of the limited partnership(legal). you purchase the tickets using a cashiers check drawn on the limited partnership's bank account(legal). You purchase a rubber stamp with the partnership's name and stamp the back of each ticket. When you win, you both are required to sign to recieve the check.

Powerball winners have cause for thanks
Cash,I think that is an option for all lotteries that allow cash option/annuity choices at claiming (as opposed to at purchase). The IRS regs say that a winner has 60 days from time of claiming to declare which they choose (or else it is assumed for taxes that they took the lump sum). And, most lotteries treat lottery partnerships/pools/etc. as groups of individual winners for IRS regs (unless they formed a legal partnership or trust, which, in that case, the partnership/trust is the actual lega

Lottery Vendors Object to Tenn.-Georgia Partnership
I am in favor of the partnership myself. the lottery would start much earlier and make more money..The 4 vendors who are against the partnership are sore losers. They want absolute control. I personally feel that they are against the checks and balances in the Georgia system. In other words I feel as if the 4 vendors win, there is room for hanky panky which is not so easy if a sister state is looking over their shoulders.

Lottery Vendors Object to Tenn.-Georgia Partnership
It's about time some of the other MANY lottery/gaming vendors spoke up about the problems inherent in the proposed GA/TN partnership . However, unsaid in the article (but probably strongly implied in the letter) is the strong probability of a lawsuit or lawsuits if the partnership goes through.Come on TN, wake up and smell the load of s that GA is feeding you!

Lottery partnerships have poor track record
As Tennessee officials consider a lottery partnership with Georgia, lottery observers warn that similar joint ventures have had their problems. Tensions simmer within a consortium of western Canadian provinces operating a lottery together. Three New England states are starting to go their separate ways. And South Carolina took only a few days before turning down Georgia's offer to join forces.``Some liaisons are not what they're cracked up to be,'' Edward Stanek of Iowa, the country's longest-se

Lottery deal may lead to lawsuits
Tennessee's lottery board is pushing ahead with preparations for an unprecedented partnership with Georgia despite escalating criticism of the arrangement and no definitive answer as to whether it would be legal. That question is expected to be answered by Attorney General Paul G. Summers in a formal legal opinion before Friday, when the seven-member board of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corp. has scheduled a vote on acceptance of Georgia's offer. If given the legal green light, there is an ar

Claiming as a trust or partnership
Usually when people in Florida win a large Lotto jackpot, the names are listed along with their ages. Even when the jackpot is claimed as a trust they've historically listed the individual names of the people in the trust. So I found today's press release interesting. (in blue below) Of course it doesn't stop a curious reporter from showing up at your doorstep, but without using my full name and age, I would feel more comfortable. I also wonder if the city can be where the trust was created, not

Lottery deal with Georgia best bet, expert says
Tennessee's lottery could reap as much as an extra $249 million over a seven-year period by joining forces with Georgia, according to a consultant hired by the state lottery board. The additional proceeds would stem from Tennessee's starting its lottery Dec. 2 about three months earlier than without Georgia's help and leveraging Georgia's attractive rates with two major gaming vendors, consultant Gerry Wexelbaum told the board yesterday. It appears that a joint venture with Georgia would be the m
