Best/Worst state lottery logos
I wonder which logo was designed first; Oregon, Virginia or that of the UK National Lottery?
I think the TN logo is much better than some of the rest. I like the ones that incorporate something the state is known for; there are several of those.

Documentary: The Lottery Liar
Includes video report
This is the incredibly strange tale of Howard and his wife Kathy Walmsley.
One day back in the late 90's Howard told Kathy a whopper of a lie that he won a 8.9 million (US$11.5 million) jackpot in the British National Lottery. And Kathy believed him.
As a result the two went on a shopping spree, buying fast cars, a dream home and a lifestyle fit for a multi-millionaire but it was all one big deception, as Howard hadn't actually won a single penny.
The film was c

Camelot to change UK Lottery from 6/49 draw to 6/59 draw!
Hi Crystaltips,
Ludicrous that Camelot can brazenly describe the addition of *31 million* combinations to the twice-weekly draw as 'exciting' for the player!! Exciting for Camelot Directors is nearer the truth!
You (or someone here) may know if there is a person or group in the UK to complain to? I think this is a blatant and outrageous breach of the UK Trade Descriptions Act.
Adding 31 million combinations and saying it will be 'exciting' for the player can only be described a

Do you play a lottery other than your state lottery?
Nobody pays me for my own opinions. I support lotteries as I believe that they are an excellent method of raising money for local communities.
The UK National Lottery is a perfect example, it has raised billions of pounds for good causes throughout the UK.

UK Lottery announces 'Millionaire Map'... but doesn't reveal the map
the UK National Lottery announced the creation of a 'Millionaire Map' that plots the number of winners in each region
... because the hooligans need to know where their next defenseless (not counting pots and pans) targets should be, in the land of dial triple nines and hope for the best .

Should Lottery Commissions Be Obligated To Maintain Your Anonymity?
The NSW State Lotteries and the UK National Lottery allow all winners to claim their prize money anonymously, without a problem. These two lotteries are the most profession, players and the general public do trust the lotteries, and successful, they raise billion in revenue, in the world.
US State Lotteries should look at how they run their businesses and follow their example.

UK HotPicks
Len: The re-branding of the flagship game to Lotto was not the best tonic for the UK National Lottery. The 6/49 game should have been changed to a 6/52 or 6/53 game. Even with falling sales, the 6/49 game is almost always hit. Lotto Extra should be scrapped; replaced by a 5/39 Tuesday Friday game where the jackpot DOES NOT roll over; 2 numbers wins a FREE TICKET, and 75% or more of the prize money goes to punters matching 3 or 4 numbers. Thunderball is a decent game; however, the new Hotp

UK lottery winner recounts downsides of winning
Over the past 20 years Mark Gardiner has accumulated pretty much all the paraphernalia one might associate with a lottery winner.
There's the sprawling listed mansion with manicured grounds and kidney-shaped swimming pool, the gleaming Aston Martin in the garage, and the exotic holidays when he fancies them.
As he puts it: People write a list of what they'd do when they win the lottery, don't they? New house, flash car, lovely holidays, private jets. Well, I've ticked them all off.
But

Ontario Lottery scraps privatization plan
The Canadian province of Ontario has scrapped plans to privatize its state-run lottery business.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp (OLG) announced that it had cancelled its request for proposals (RFP) for private operators interested in taking over management of its lottery operations, which generated sales of C$3.8b (US$2.9b) in fiscal 2015-16.
Ontario's ruling Liberal government had issued the RFP in 2014, which generated bids from established gaming co
