Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I am beginning to wonder if I should stop buying and just wait and keep saving for the Big One and hope that the no win streak ends there. Or is someone going to sneak in and grab the jackpot before it becomes truly humongous when I would go all in for it?
If you knew how big it would get before somebody else won the best strategy would be to wait and spend it all on the drawing before that one. Of course you can't know when it will be hit, but you can know what's probable. The table at htt

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Another $18M scheduled increase for the Measly Millions.... Dilly Dilly..... I was grabbing a PB QP last night, talking with the clerk who said that their sales for the MM have fallen off a cliff and he hardly sells any on his 3-11 shift at the Murphy gas station. Haven't talked with any of the people at various locations where I purchase other tickets but I will and report on what I find out.
I have 3 tickets in for tonights draw. Good luck to all of us tonight

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
The Mega Millions jackpot increased by $16 million to $166 million. This is the first time in this run the jackpot increased more than the minimum. This means the jackpot is fully funded from sales and the jackpot increases should continue to be fairly large. But the jackpot increases will probably not be VERY large until the Powerball jackpot is won. The Powerball jackpot is currently almost three times larger at $449 million.
The Mega Millions jackpot reached $166 million after 11 rolls. I

Powerball lottery tickets go on sale in the UK on July 21
--
My Point: Sooner sooner creates more 10X
You nailed it. They focused on the jackpot hitting $150M faster, but completely ignored the reset.
Think of it like a pendulum:
Their Argument Your Counter (Correct)
Jackpot hits $150M faster = 10X turns off sooner Jackpot resets to $20M faster = 10X turns back on sooner
Fewer drawings with 10X More total drawings with 10X because resets happen more often
The Math:
If the jackpot grows faster due to UK sales, it might tak

Arizona Lottery delays expiration date of $12.8 million jackpot-winning ticket in legal battle
Evidently it must have been against company policy for employees to purchase rejected tickets
The stories I've seen have said the policy is that employees can't buy (any) lottery tickets at the store they work at , not just while they're working. There's also the whole deception angle of attempting to buy the ticket in the hopes that the company didn't yet know they owned a ticket worth far more than face value. I don't see any way that it was a lawful sale/purchase.
Unprecedented move

Hoosier Lottery pulls Space Invaders scratch-off game after players are denied $100k prize matches
Technical issue caused misprint that has players considering legal action
By Kate Northrop
The Hoosier Lottery has halted sales for its Space Invaders Cash Invasion scratch-off game after players have come forward with tickets that appear to have won $100,000 and other prizes valued in the thousands, which the Lottery is attributing to a technical issue.
Some Indiana players are taking to online forums and news outlets to voice frustrations at being denied prizes as high as $100,000

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Since the Powerball jackpot was just won, again it is highly unlikely it will catch up to the Mega Millions jackpot.
I'm fairly sure PB can catch up, but it will take a long time. The last time they each got past a $900 million annuity PB took just over 3 months (9/8 to 12/10) to reach 930. MM (with 2/3 as many drawings per week) took 4 1/2 months (7/1 to 11/14) to reach 980. PB took 40 rollovers to get there and MM took 39. For those that still don't understand why MM starts with a series

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I tend to agree with almost everything you wrote, but there is one thing I'm not sure about.
In Pennsylvania (a state that's held a Millionaire Raffle for maybe the last 20 consecutive years) something happened six or seven years ago that was caused by what some called Raffle Fatigue on the part of players. In almost every year, the PA Lottery usually begins selling Millionaire Raffle tickets in early October, and the drawing is held shortly after The New Years Day Holiday.

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
I'm thinking about buying more tickets, but the big question for me is how many would I buy?
I posted above that I won 40 bucks (cash) and I did buy one ticket with that money. I still have the other twenty dollar bill in my wallet, so maybe I'll buy another ticket with that. For now I'm keeping my eye on the raffle just to see what happens. Sales have been slow... about 3600 a day, so if they remain slow that'll have some bearing on whether or not I'll buy more.
I'm a fan of raffles..
