Georgia to sell tickets online
The only other option (besides a courier like UPS/FedEx) would be to trust the GA Lottery to hold onto your ticket and let you know if you have a winner or not. And, I don't know about the rest of you, but there have been too many horror stories lately about dishonest clerks/lottery personnel/etc. for me to trust anyone other than me to hold onto that ticket.Until we have a change in the postal service rules and regs, it's somewhat doubtful that GA would allow ticket sales for out of state w

Lotto pet peeves (with vendors & other players)
I don't have too many complaints about clerks, but have had a few problems. For the pool I run, I usually hand 2 or 3 playslips to the clerk to run through the machine to buy multidraw tickets. Sometimes, they'll run the same slip more than once. Since I run multidraw tickets, sometimes the clerks think the machine is malfunctioning by telling them both playslips will be $16(4tickets for 4 drawings), but I can understand that since they probably don't see that very much. As for checking ti

Store clerk busted trying to scam undercover lottery investigator
I don't understand why so many seasoned lottery players use the self scanners. There are so many ways available to find out what the winning numbers are. If you check your tickets yourself, you will know what you've won and YOU can tell the clerk what the amount is when you cash it. Not only does that eliminate the chance of the clerk giving you some BS amount, you also will appear more knowledgeable and as such, less likely to be scammed by dishonest clerks looking for inexperienced players

4th clerk arrested in Florida Lottery sting
Greatmaltz never mentioned Millions or Norway in their post. Only you know why you mentioned Patels in Norway and commented on Kamlawatie Persaud's impressive mugshot and why you're now saying I am not a bigot . If you had a beef with Millions, why didn't you simply reply to their post? To get back on topic, lots of state lotteries test their retailers and find dishonest clerks and store owners. I try to avoid cashing tickets at stores that hide their lottery monitor that show if or not a tic

Which is worse?
I often read stories on LP about dishonest clerks like the recent one with the guy pinning . I was just browsing Lottery news and came across a story about some burglaries in which scratch off tickets were stolen. It seems that every couple of weeks I read stories like these. What really gripes me is that these idiots think they can actually get paid but all they are really doing is preventing someone else from winning. To make matters worse it's uncertain if Lotteries will update their re

Iowa Lottery requires winners to sign tickets
While I agree with most of your post,I disagree with this statement: People do not deserve what they get if they do not know how much they won. Everyone that buys a lottery ticket that wins, deserves to be paid.Sometimes people don't know how much they won, especially if they are playing game that does not specify on the ticket how much was won.Powerball,Mega Millions and other online games don't tell you if you won or not,and they certainly don't tell you how much you won.Instant scratch of

If you check your tickets yourself, you will know what you've won and YOU can tell the clerk what the amount is when you cash it. Yes, I am a seasoned player, but I am also human. With regards to scratchers, people often miss a winning number and throw away a winning card. I manually scan all my tickets that I know are winners, sometime

Do you sign your tickets?
I disagree, if someone finds it, they will turn it in with hopes of being rewarded for doing so. If they don't, the ticket is worthless to them anyway because it's signed...so why wouldn't they turn it in knowing more then likely the owner of the ticket, who just won the JP, would reward them nicely for doing so? Proving that a ticket was stolen would be very very hard and one would have to have some hard evidence to prove differently. He said she said would not override a signature on a

Reminder: Lottery Changed my life tonight-Thursday
The guy from Illinois had been on before. With all the stories about dishonest clerks stealing people's tickets it's amazbing that he went to three places and they wouldn't even look at his ticket. Well, they did say his disheveled appearance caused that, but still. The motel manager called him the Motel Millionaire . For a lottery winner the guy is living pretty austerely but if you think about it the $1,000 a month motel rent includes utilities and proabalby cable, and housekeeping. T

Lottery Gangsters
why would the lottery ask how you pick your numbers to win at the game? Why would anyone ask what do you do for a living? or where did you buy that nice suit? The people who work at the Lottery Office were probably just being friendly or making small talk when they asked that question. The fact that people here actually think they are watching us and care means that some of you sincerely believe you have the secret to win a large jackpot. There have been several winners who wo
