MUSL employee arrested in Hot Lotto jackpot mystery
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has made an arrest in the four-year-old case involving a winning Hot Lotto ticket worth more than $16 million which the winner mysteriously decided not to claim.
Eddie Raymond Tipton, 51, of Norwalk, was arrested on Thursday. He has been charged with two counts of fraud, which are class D felonies.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post. It was a curiosity and mainly meant for immediate family. And in a state where you could remain anonymous of course, I should have mentioned since in a state other that, there would be no secret would there! Single mom finds €258,528 lottery ticket in her garbage can
A single mother from Galway, Ireland, nearly lost out on a 258,528 (US$351,482) lottery win all because she tossed her winning ticket into a garbage can.
But Lady Luck smiled on her when she eventually discovered the all-important ticket buried in the household garbage.

Inquiry in Iowa Lottery mystery touches Canada
Investigators seeking to unravel an attempted multimillion-dollar Iowa Lottery jackpot scheme have been in contact with Canadian authorities and are looking into people who may have been involved, an agent said Thursday.
Special Agent in Charge Patrick Townsend of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed his agency sought assistance from Canadian law enforcement early in the 18-month investigation into a withdrawn claim for a $14.3 million Hot Lotto jackpot.

Blind Trust to claim winnings...
I read several posts with what seems to be misinformation about blind trusts and Powerball winnings. It seems confusing because the intended purpose of the blind trust to to set it up for a beneficiary and then keep that beneficiary in the dark about how the money is invested etc. For lottery winners, the advantage is anonynimity in some states. But what good is being anonymous if you give control of the money to the executor? How can you be sure they won't steal it or invest it in their brother
