Once in a blue moon powerball X10
The once in a blue moon Powerball X10 multiplier was a big win for the 5 players that had the power play on their ticket.
From $50K to $500K - their new year is indeed jolly.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Great.
Haven't checked mine yet and I was shooting from the virtual hip when I played, so, dunno.
They're in a safe place though.
Playing PB and LA is a great alternative to MM.
I can play $3.00 PB Power Play $2.00 LA All Star Bonus for the Price of one Micro Millions $5.00.

Powerball
I don't because I would have to spend an average of $12 million to win the extra $1 million. That's not a good deal. I'm perfectly happy winning only $1 million.
Most of the power play winnings go to the bottom two prizes. A 1 in 26 chance to win about eight dollars or so, big deal.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Playing Powerball tonight.
Gonna save about $20.00 not playing Miserable Millions.
Play 10 lines with the Power Play; all self picked; I'm in IA this week.
One QP just for fun, no PP out of Kwik Star in Waterloo, IA... tee-hee... .
Powerball is also on the threshold of a Jackpot Frenzy.
Usually, at about the 30th draw, it explodes.
Good Luck Everyone.

$2 mistake turns into $150,000 Pick 5 lottery prize for Maryland player
@ShagE3
You do have a double play option!
Just buy two tickets as so- one ticket like 1,2,3,4,5 PB1 and another
1,2,3,4,5 PB2
That way if you match 5 numbers you get two one million dollar prizes the same as power play and you get two chances at the full jackpot instead of one shot at the big jackpot and one shot at the booby prize.
You also get two shots at 50k
It's the same 4 bucks but if you are going for the big jackpot and you match ,5 wouldn't you rather have the t

Powerball drawing produces huge number of big winners, including two who split the jackpot
An official explanation of how and why it happened would be nice to know.
But to my mind, the big question is will the individual state prize pools have a sufficient amount of funds available to pay $115 million? (total across all states that participate in PB with a set second prize) to pay all second place prize winners either 1 million, or if the player bought the Power Play option, $2 million.
My guess is that some states will have adequate funding to cover the full second prize pay

Balancing Odds and Cost 😁
Last summer I was in Texas for vacation, I bought a 15 draw Texas Lotto ticket, the jackpot was in the 30M range. I did not win the jackpot .
But you are right, at $1 a draw even with the odds it feels ok. Where I live the state doesn't tax the lottery, so a 1M win would be 630K, which is a very decent win.
I add the extra $1 for the power play to make it 1,260,000 after taxes, now that sounds very good
Good luck on your upcoming draws and Happy Birthday in advance.
