UK National Lottery sees sales dip due to growing economic uncertainty
That's a good question. I thought that was a done deal as of August 2021 but I don't recall hearing anything else about it. If you remember there were some lawmakers in Idaho threatening to pull out of the Powerball group of states because the UK and Australia were being added. For some weird reason they apparently thought China was being added also, even thou no one had mentioned China. After some push back from voters, in Feb. 2022 Idaho reconsidered and decided to remain a Powerball state. So

$1.76 billion Powerball jackpot won by one ticket sold in California
That state has an unfair advantage because they have never sold a losing ticket. It's going to damage these games because players in the other 45 states are going to stop buying tickets altogether. No one in California deserves to win because it's way too easy. They have a state game but no one plays it because there are hundreds of thousands of jackpot winners every draw. You need way harder lotteries when you have a state that has a higher population than the countries of China and India combi

UK woman who went through £1.8M lottery winnings says she "spent it wisely" and "had a great time"
Celebrities sell their handbags all the time. There are online sites that authenticate them for resale. I'd buy a knockoff from China before buying a used handbag. Dhgate is supposed to be good. I want some knockoff Gucci tennis shoes. I love Gucci. Not a Louis fan.

Chinese man hides $30 million lottery jackpot from family, worries that money will make them "lazy"
EXACTLY what I was thinking.. the Chinese like to gamble though that is a fact.. I think this a fable.. yes. Anyone who has that kind of money could hire a personal training staff, put an indoor pool in house. GET THE HELL OUT OF CHINA .. buy their own Island and work out and have the best cuisine in the world. and never have to answer a phone again. all calls and postcards would be outgoing and by request only. :)

Chinese man hides $30 million lottery jackpot from family, worries that money will make them "lazy"
I've read elsewhere that it's common practice for players in China to appear in a costume when collecting their winnings. G5 https://nypost.com/2022/11/01/why-a-30-million-lotto-winner-kept-win-secret-from-family/

Winner fears his family will become complacent By Kate Northrop A man who won a 219 million yuan ($30.5 million) lottery jackpot kept the news from his wife and child, fearing that the extra fortune would curb their motivation. Somewhere in China near the town of Litang, there's a family out there that has no idea they're sitting on a huge lottery haul. An anonymous winner, known as Li, finally had the luckiest day of his life after playing the same numbers for ten years. He wou

Maryland brothers arrested for $3.5 million lottery scam that allegedly involved exploding briefcase
The phone scam stuff is even worse than it seems on the surface. The people making the calls or texts are often forced to do so in scam labor camps. Normal non-criminal people in various parts of Asia, mainly China, get lured by fake job ads for tech work. Then they end up in the jungle in Cambodia or Myanmar forced to sit on the phone and try to scam people all day. NY Times did several articles about it. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/28/world/asia/cambodia-cyber-scam.html https://ww

$1.76 billion Powerball jackpot won by one ticket sold in California
Lol that you're saying california has a higher population than China or India combined is totally nuts. If the lottery were rigged, it would be so california and Florida dont win. Sales would be better from other states if people didn't see those 2 winning all the time and the objective of the lottery is to increase sales. I don't believe the lottery is rigged so anyone in any particular place wins it, that doesn't benefit the lottery system in any way. I wouldn't be surprise

For the first time in my life, war with China is a reality, we have no real leadership . So, look for good deals, spend with care and save some dollars for a rainy day. The dollar store is now the $1.25 store, good grief !
