Ontario Lottery launches a new type of instant ticket
The way that reads, it seems like there is a vulnerability introduced: If you can find out the winning numbers (since they were already drawn), hack a lotto ticket machine to print out a winning ticket. Also, if a player can immediately, after purchase, scan the ticket to see if it is a winner, it seems much like an instant draw game. I've never played an instant draw game because its a computer draw.

Maybe the winning ticket was purchased at a self serve lottery ticket vending machine located within the airport terminal building.

Washington woman checks lottery ticket months after draw and discovers $135,000 win
A Washington woman bought a lottery ticket from a vending machine but didn't realize until months later that it was a $135,000 winner. The Lynnwood woman, identified as M.B., told Washington's Lottery officials she bought her Hit 5 ticket from a vending machine at her local Fred Meyer store while picking up groceries for dinner. M.B. said it wasn't until several months later that her husband reminded her to check the ticket, so she scanned it at a vending machine and received the instruc

California man asks clerk to choose a lottery game for him, ends up picking out a ticket worth $10M
Great story but we all want to know how much he tipped the clerk for this. This is why I would never ask for a quick pick. The timing of a clerks fingers on a machine is what you are basing your selection of numbers on. It is different with a scratch ticket though. They are up there on the wall and it does not matter how long it would take him to select one for you. Having the clerk select the right ticket deserves a far larger tip since he is making a decision for you rather than hesitating wit

Accidental lottery ticket purchase nets Maryland couple $2 million in Powerball
Maryland resident here! Once you scan an old ticket, the machine will ask if you'd like to replay your numbers or not. If the ticket is too old, you would manually enter your numbers. Another function I love about Maryland machines is that you can actually see the QP numbers on the screen and choose to throw those back or purchase that ticket. I noticed in VA and NC that those machines don't allow you to see the numbers first.

California couple face felony charges for stealing $135 worth of Iowa Lottery tickets
That playslip gizmo reminds me of what an idiot did. You scan the scratch ticket above as you know. this fool forced the scratch ticket into the playslip thing and shut the whole machine down.

$1.08 billion Powerball lottery winner Yanira Alvarez filed claim for jackpot over five months ago
Congratulations to her, that seems like a stressful process to go through ( BUT! I'm willing to do it!! Lol ). I'm wondering if found tickets are eligible to be claimed? For example I have found multiple tickets in lotto machines when purchasing my own due to the fact that the lotto machines in my state are old and have a glitch that the last ticket you buy doesn't fall down, it stays stuck and you need to reach in there and pull it out manually. When I first moved here I lost ticke

Accidental lottery ticket purchase nets Maryland couple $2 million in Powerball
And of course it happened to me after posting this. Had a $4 winner on Cash for Life. Machine asked me if I wanted to cash it in Y/N? I said yes and missed that the next question was do I want to REPLAY the C4L ticket? I thought the prior question 'didnt take' and was asking me again if I wanted to cash it in so hit yes and ended up getting a replay of the ticket. Lets hope its a 'happy' replay

I would have given the clerk that ticket and just tell the truth that I found it left behind in the machine. Maybe the clerk knows who to return it to because it's a regular customer, maybe not. Either way, it's out of my hands. If the clerk is dishonest enough to try to claim it as her own, she won't get very far because of the time stamp and security footage. Not my monkeys not my circus, as they say.

Correct, however have you used an IGT machine in KY and then it won't scan? That's when the person who loads the machine does not activate the scratch tickets. Just yesterday a Trucker scanned his ticket to show me this and he was not happy.
