Verbal contracts to share a potential lottery win/gambling related are impossible to enforce in most jurisdictions. It is based on indefiniteness, etc. and there really is not an offer and acceptance as in a contract. Now, if it concerned a married couple, that is different since it would be property acquired during a marriage. If you both tell the court there was agreement, laughingly or not, the court will likely uphold that agreement. Even if you are laughing, and they laugh too, there was an oral understanding, an offer tendered without conditions and acknowledged. In most states that would be an oral contract. G
