Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I have been wanting to start a lottery pool for PB/MM/other games for a long time now. But, as I am retired and do not have any office/work buddies any longer I have been am unable to locate enough people to make it feasible. I have no family close by and very little contact with anyone else these days, but no pity please, I am one happy individual with this 99% of the time. I have spent quite a bit of time researching the subject and have sketched an outline (still very incomplete) of what

2026 lottery headlines you hope to see
Yes. Claim an ongoing investigation for 4 years. Lol Oldest trick in the book. Ghislane was sentenced in 2022. Yet the Trump Administration was expected to advertise and bid a contract with a vendor to set up an online searchable database, hire many new attorneys to review the documents and redact sensitive info in millions of documents in a year. And have a second higher level of review. You do know this process is not handled in house with a DOJ paralegal in the basement doing this work???

Connecticut Lottery retailer license suspended after illegal slot machines discovered
They way overreacted. Just telling the guy to get rid of the machines or they will suspend his lottery contract would have been enough punishment for an initial violation. Yet they allow Draft Kings and Fan Duel among others to charge .20 lines + on major league baseball games.

New Company managing Ohio Lottery
Approximately 18 months ago a new company based in England was given a multi year contract to manage the Ohio Lottery. The more things change the more they stay the same! The lottery website is famous for skipping drawing results, not posting results timely and recently the top 10 recent winners for one of the progressive games was listed with 10 winners all from July, 2019! Numerous coincidences and anomalies the last several years is cause for suspicion that all is not on the up and up with th

Arizona lottery retailer employee sued after buying $12.8 million ticket knowing it was a winner
Some great case law will be made one way or another in this matter. I assume these stores are like a franchise but if the contract is silent on the issue, it may be split between Citcle K and the store manager (owner?). The Circle k website says it uses a hybrid model for the stores so this may control the outcome along with what has been the standard practice for leftover tickets. Update: It looks like individual stores are required to pay for unsold tickets so the individual store owner mi

Tucker, I think you misunderstood. My numbers 1 and 2 are just things to be considered and decided upon when setting up the agreement/contract for the lottery pool. I have not read every article in the universe about lottery pool troubles, but I have read quite a few over the years about payment issues and ticket purchases. Example 1: Kind of like my number 1 - https://www.lotterypost.com/news/340732 Example 2: Kind of like my number 2 - https://www.lotterypost.com/news/3260

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
But you said, the more money I have to pay in taxes, the higher my income is, and I wouldn't mind that at all . And in my example you would have been better off taking the $1,000,000 because you would have kept $750,000 of it and by taking the $10,000,000 you would have only kept $500,000. So taking the bigger amount wouldn't have been the smart choice. Whether it's tax law or not doesn't matter. You said what you said. And people choose how much they make in a year every time they cha

U.K. National Lottery going on 36-hour break for huge technology upgrade
To me it would like a lot of marketing spin .... they were supposed to convert to their system when they took over (Feb 2024) and are about 18 months late. Were also supposed to bring back the price of Lotto to GBP1 (today it is GBP 2) and to increase contribution to good causes. Until now have done none of that .... we shall see. Also, to say that they have invested already GBP350M in the contract sounds a little stretched. Hopefully someone will want to check them on that. PS

Oh no, I don't like what am hearing. You are new to the pool and you don't know all the rules. Don't know how many members make up the pool. That's scary. It's always said great lottery pools have laid down rules that members sign against. It's like a legal binding contract. If you don't how how many people are in the pool, how sure are you someone is not getting 5M when you are getting 1M? What happens if the relative buys a ticket and it wins and the relative keeps the winnings to
