This should not be a surprise to anyone. Indiana joined Powerball on Oct. 14, 1990, and New Jersey joined Powerball 20 years later on Jan. 31, 2010. When Indiana joined, there were 12 states in the game. When New Jersey joined, there were 43 states in the game.
