If random is not random and logical is >
Smaller Pick-5 games like when Florida was 5/26 had a point up to which if you played all the prior winning combinations each day you would have made a profit because there were something like seven times a five number combination was drawn that had been drawn previously. You do reach a point where even the little jackpots can't cover the cost of playing $500+ per day and the miniscule 3# and 4# prizes hardly helped.Sums, etc. If the game is in balance all the gross fields will be close to or

Mathematics of Lotto
The formula is always with me.I am using it every moment.I post one draw Prediction for five top Jackpots. If I can win more than a quick pick, why not use it?I am not a guru.Anyway I am improving the chance every minute.lotto prediction has nothing to do with historcial draws.more or less we have both makes no difference to get the only correct one draw.I don't think I understand your comment. You say the formula is always with you. Is paragraph two and three the formula? Or is there a formula th

Math Geniuses, Help!! "SLAG" Odd/Even Analysis - Chart I
Hi Gary, This is where people start assigning group indicators with alphabets ABCDE(1-14,15-28,29-42,43-56,57-70) or numerical identifiers(1,2,3,4,5). This leads to structure prediction. e.g., 1-20-45-50-65 becomes ABDDE or 12445. Once we are dealing as structures, We see the repetition of these groups clearly in other positions. That's the next stage or a different stage of handling this same positional data(sorted order). I noticed GH has mentioned in LMG that She wrote few pape

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
I said If there really are two jackpots, someone is ignoring the fact one ticket can only win one jackpot and believe it or not none of the other prizes with two chances to win can't win twice either. There are, stop nagging. Something is getting lost in the translation because the game was stopped because hundreds of individual tickets had the potential to all win ONE jackpot in any one drawing and costing the state millions. Can you mathematically prove how it possible for one ticket

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
but it would be better not to offer the odd or even option than to include both. You're half right because they did offer those options to encourage more play, but when they were told how much they could lose on one drawning, they stopped the game. Don't sell people for stupid man! The bet is no worse than another bet, but since it's easier to play, it's highly played. The lottery cannot be hurt, If the Texas Lottery couldn't be hurt, why did they stop the game? only peo

Does Mathematical Innumeracy foster superstitions and support the belief in them?
RL: No way of walking through it without getting it on your boots. Afterward if there was any stink in what he was walking through the aroma follows a person around until he takes the trouble of scraping it off. It would be nice to see some new threads on the Math Forum involving lottery related math minus a lot of personality juice, but until someone chooses to begin threads of that sort there won't be much to draw a person to the Math Forum, instead of one of the others. You've started s

Interest In Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
It's fairly easy to find 12 numbers that have won several jackpots but what does it prove? For example in Ohio Rolling Cash5 (5/39): 03 04 07 10 11 15 16 21 23 30 35 38 07/03/09 - 11 16 21 30 35 04/18/09 - 03 10 16 35 38 03/30/08 - 03 07 15 23 35 02/04/08 - 04 15 21 35 38 also: MATCH 0 = 277 MATCH 1 = 766 MATCH 2 = 788 $ 788 MATCH 3 = 370 $ 3700 MATCH 4 = 62 $ 18600 MATCH 5 = 4 4 jackpots 1220 prizes = $ 23088 + 4 JP

Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
Now that I composed myself. Haven't read the post you are talking about yet. Maybe it's just me, but before I make a bet, I want know what I'm betting on. Would I bet $1 on the next 10 pick-5 games trying to match 2 or 3 numbers? Nope. Would I bet $10 on the next drawing trying to match 2 or 3 numbers? Nope Would I make either bet in the next 15,000,000 drawings for the same reasons? You got to be kidding me. A true test would calulate how many jackpots were won by betting $1

Back to Basics (Dice)
I just rolled a die 13 times. The first 12 numbers, in order, were 1, 3, 6, 2, 6, 6, 3, 1, 4, 5, 5, and 5. Using your combinatorics and probability, what was the 13th number? The questoin is about the same as betting on which way something shaped like a football is going to bounce. Probabilities are based on millions of decisions. There is one combination to roll snake eyes (1-1) wih a pair of dice. (One single die is called a die, not dice ). There are 36 possible combinations

Megaball prediction
Analyzing numbers is fun, but there is hardly any reason to believe that lotteries, at least government-run ones in democratic countries, should be anything other than random. If you want to find an edge in lotteries, look for flaws in the prize structures, not the number draws. There's the famous story of the Midwest couple Jerry and Marge Selbee who did just that. They found a lottery with a prize structure such that jackpots that were not won were distributed down to lower prize categori
