How exactly are lottery scratchers numbered in CA
Sorry to split this up but I didn't want to exceed the time limit again.
As far as how the winners are distributed per pack I can tell you that over the last 20 or so years that I have been reading this site that the packs work something like this
If there are 3 big winners then the first big winner is in the first 3rd of the tickets and the second one is in the second 3rd with, of course, the third winner being in the third 3rd to avoid getting 2 big winners in the same book.

How exactly are lottery scratchers numbered in CA
No, I was referring to multiplying the book number by 30. If the first number is the book number you would multiply by 30 because in your example there were 30 tickets per book.
In Michigan and a lot of other states the numbers on the bottom are xxx-xxxxxxxx-xxx with the first set being the game number and the second set being the book number and the third set is the ticket number in that particular book. So in a lot of states You multiply the overall odds by the overall number of prize

I don't know how it is with other states, but it seems that here in MI, most regular players know that the first week is usually the best time to buy tickets. (I see this when talking to the retailers and the places I frequent tell me that they've had a lot of people asking about new ticket X or Y and the retailer is still waiting for their shipment.)
I've also found, as an aside, that they seem to come out in batches. The first week is the best time for winners, then it falls off, winners-wi

Scratch-offs in MI
It depends on how much you have to spend !
I am liking the $5 and $2 Cash For Life tickets right now..
I have won $100 and a few $20's on the Straight 8's - a $1 ticket.
I like the Red White and Blue $5 ticket.
Second chance drawing ? You go on line and put in your loser tickets for a chance at other prizes. Tehy have a catalog you can choose from with the points.
Just go to the Michigan Lottery website- its all there !
GOOD LUCK !

Jut found this site and love it.
Welcome cwcwpa, You must be in the right spot, getting some wins, you know what they say, it's location location location.
In Florida, there is not a set payback in a roll of tickets, but it's different for each state. We have seen a 600.00 roll pay only 200.00.
The big winner could be about anywhere, I believe the thing to remember is that there are millions of tickets, hundreds of thousands of rolls and only single digit or 10's of big winners. You truly have to be very very lucky, even

Scratch off methods.
Interesting reading =).. I live at the bottom of Michigan and don't buy my gas and tickets at the same place.
I have one favorite small market with friendly employees that share what the last person has purchased/won/lost... I go to other stores and buy tickets but seem to win more at old faithful !
I usually buy $2 tickets and sometimes $1 ones..
My biggest winnings $60 on each ..
I stay positive and I WILL win big !!
Glad I found this board ...

(1) $2 Show me the Money; won $5 (1 for 1 on this game)
(1) $3 Triple Red's loser (I have bought 13 tickets of this, never won)

How much have you won the most from a scratch-off ticket?
$1-$100 ( 28 years ago) (stopped playing the $1 tickets back in the mid to late 1990's)
$2-$30
$3-$5(Michigan doesn't do these anymore)
$5-$100 (6 years ago)
$10-$40
$20-$25
We don't get Top prize winners on the $5 or $20 tix in these parts.
Not to mention the $20 rolls around here are really terrible. We get the packs with the 1 in 8 odds of
getting your $20 back. I was stupid enough to buy a $20 tick recently and you guessed it...I lost the $20. I knew better but

How exactly are lottery scratchers numbered in CA
I did did not look to see how California does it
Edit: I just looked at the examples on the California website and I am guessing that California does book number and ticket number
while leaving off the game number. So yyyyyyyy-zzzz my guess is y is the book number and z is the ticket number.
Otherwise if you are familiar with the way California does the numbering and you know you are correct then your retailer may have a pack of earlier tickets that have not been selling o
