Seeing if an instant lottery ticket is a winner
I would like to know if there is a way to tell if my tickets are winners or not before taking them to the retailer. I live in Michigan and have just started to play some instant tickets and have heard it has something to do with the 3 letters on the ticket.

Question about Scartch off's
Michigan scratch-offs have expiration dates. 3 or 4 new games come out a week. people jump all over them while the old games with the big winners get ignored then they expire. seems like the only time when people hit big winners is when second chance prizes are at stake with the losing tickets.

Michigan scratchers.
The population argument has been hashed and rehashed and the bottum line is that this area of the state has as much population as the biggest three Detroit suburbs but we dont win up here. If you look at wins per 100,000 population you will see how unbalanced the winners actually are. Southwest Michigan may have half of the states population but they have 85% to 90% of the winners.

Michigan scratchers.
I'm probably missing it, but all I see on the press releases are winners from the metro detroit area, which isn't surprising when you consider that it's the most populated area in Michigan.

Michigan scratchers.
I guess Michigan isn't the best state for scratchers then. No wonder I have had such rotten luck with them, even in metro detroit.

Do confusing tickets lead to unaware winners?
Well in Michigan its pretty easy to tell if you won or not. After you play the ticket you scratch of the three letters around the scratch play area. The three letters will tell you if you won a prize from $1 to $25. Any prize over $25 (I believe) is just has a random set of three digits. In the Cashword game $25 is 6 words, if you won a bigger prize you should be able to tell quite easily in this game because you will have over 6 words completely scratched. Shouldn't be that hard.
Now I recen

cashword 3 letter codes
The codes are the reason why I dont play scratch offs in NY or Michigan, because you can basically tell once you see a letter whether you won or not, it takes away from the fun of the game or scratching that last number. Thank God Illinois doesnt have that.

cashword 3 letter codes
Sorry about that. I just reread and seen that you live in NYC. Those games are exactly the same names as in Michigan. Maybe the codes are the same?Brad

Top Prize Distribution??
Yeah they are....the more people in an area means more tickets also in the area which means a better chance that one of the top prizes will go to a well populated area. We did just have an exception were I live. We are a very small town in the UP of Michigan and a winning $300,000 ticket was sold here. So it happens but just as statistics would expect it to be.Brad

i cant win
Well they do have bad odds at winning prizes but not too bad overall. I mean a $5 ticket in Michigan has approximate overall odds of 1 in 3.5. That isn't too bad, even if you only win your $5 back. Instant games are addictive like you said though because of their instant qualities. Usually you keep buying until you win. That can add up once in awhileBrad
