Maddogs Powerball Challenge 6/22
I completely agree with you CW4, Obama is no good. However, I am sure most LP posters here are trying to get away from politics, the bad economy and all that other depressing stuff! Instead let's talk lottery and cheer for our sports teams here. Think POSITIVE when you come to LP! If you feel like ranting and raving there are thousands of forums that deal with politics. Thanx!

MADDOG'S Powerball Challenges (Discussion)
Any assertion about a lottery can be shown to be true or false with the application of logic and mathematics. That's only rarely possible with religion or politics. Sounds like an opinion to me, beside what one players call logic may be considered nonsense to another as is displayed many LP threads. About religion and politics, you were the one that suggested that such issues could be bias and I'm simply saying it's true of lottery issues too. I think both Wikipedia and Britannica Encyc

It's interesting to me that you categorize lotteries with religion and politics. I can't see any reason to do that other than the fact that some people have a near religious belief in their lottery systems. Any assertion about a lottery can be shown to be true or false with the application of logic and mathematics. That's only rarely possible with religion or politics. Since Wikipedia is not accepted here, I signed up for a subscription to the online version of The Encyclopedia Britannica. Th

MADDOG'S Powerball Challenges (Discussion)
When it comes to religions, politics and playing lotteries, anyone writing or talking about them are for the most part expressing an opinion and use facts and data that support their opinion and may discard anything that doesn't. That's one of the reason I don't take such writings or talk as gospel.

Better luck to all??
I dont see what is wrong with discussing the political aspect of the lottery. politics and religious beliefs are the two biggest factors in deciding the fate of lotteries.

Mega Millions getting boring
Konane:Actually, NY has a third-term GOP governor (Pataki) although he's probably not conservative by your standards. The other lottery that is as bad (probably worse) in terms of forcing winners to receive annuity payments is Mass.; I know what you're going to say about THEIR politics (yet their governor is GOP, and Mormon).Connecticut, which borders both states, isn't much different politically, but, their lottery is MUCH BETTER (and is partly run in the private sector).

NY Lotto
Orange:I've been in TX twice (1986 and 1992). Both times were in the extreme NE part of the state. I was in Dallas briefly in '86.My other visit was just after the TX Lottery started; only scratch tickets were available.Thanx for the invite; however, I don't know anyone there. I probably wouldn't like the very hot summers. I also would want to be near LA or NM for Powerball. As for politics, did you know GW Bush was born in Connecticut?
