paying taxes on a $1,000 scratch-off
Thank you! Yeah, it is $600 and over and is on the Federal level. In Pennsylvania, our lottery benefits its senior citizens. There is a bill introduced to privatize the PA lottery and, I believe, it is just a matter of a few days whether it will go into effect, no less to a British company. A bit scary. We'll see how odds change on the scratch-offs if it is privatized. Will we be benefiting the Queen?

As a rule I am not an activist and generally keep my opinions to myself but, according to the article I just read, it appears that the Texas Lottery is having money woes and there are still plans for privatizing it.
Digging a bit deeper, this appears to be a trend in that other states have already done it and others are considering it.
The reason given in each case is falling revenues from their prospective lotteries.
I am in Texas and at one time ours was, not bragging, one of the rich

pa. lottery for sale ?
i don't see how a private operator could improve the odds, they need to turn a profit.
now they're saying if it works out,
they could use the model to privatize the liquor business too. (state stores)
which they have been talking about for 30 some years.
they should get out of the liquor biz first, thats not run nearly as well as the lottery.

would you still play?

3. Change the matrix of the game.
In all three options people will complain. Option one results in complaints from participating states about low sales and players wanting large jackpots. Option two results in complains about the price conscience and the $1 players (who become $2 players). Option three gets the usual com
