Mississippi Lottery passes $2 billion in gross sales
Played their lottery in Biloxi finally. Noticed they just added Double play to Powerball. A letter was mailed to them to compliment on them getting a lottery because they did not rush into it and memory says they thoroughly researched other lotteries before starting. Mentioned before, I think about WDRB interviewing me a year ago November regarding sports betting in Kentucky. I don't do that but mentioned folks will just go to neighboring states to bet. It did not pass, then suddenly it went

One Michigan lottery ticket wins $842.4 million Powerball jackpot
The lottery in America is considered one of the most unfair lotteries. Firstly, there are high taxes, a 40% deduction from the prize for the 'Lamp Sum,' state taxes, and on the other hand, in many cases, lottery winners lack any contribution to the country's growth and development. If you look at the list of lottery winners, none of them are recognized as scientists, researchers, inventors, or entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, the lottery often favors those who shouldn't, and this is fundamentally u

Incident update April 2, 2024
Starting to get a little more info about the cause. Looks like there was a problem with one of the companies that supplies network infrastructure to the data center. Several of their lines went down, and the data center temporarily re-routed network traffic through other means while it is being repaired. I'm seeing slight traffic latency, so that makes sense. Hopefully there won't be any more down time, but when a repair is concerned that is always a possibility. So if Lottery Post appears to go

Editorial: Study of lottery winners still receiving food stamps is flawed but raises good points
Independent group finds that more than 65,000 lottery winners stayed on food stamps after their wins By Kate Northrop An independent group surveyed government data and found that over 65,000 individuals who won significant lottery prizes have continued collecting food stamps. A think tank called the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) submitted Freedom of Information Act requests to all 50 U.S. states for data on lottery winners collecting food stamps since 2019 and found

Lottery Bible ~ Large Print
The Panama Canal is getting shallower. A historic drought has been emptying the vital trade waterway since January, and the Panama Canal Authority says El Ni o could exacerbate the situation. The lack of rainfall has forced the canal operator to lower the maximum depth of ships allowed through, threatening to snarl international commerce. Starting tomorrow, ships with hulls extending further than 43.5 feet below the water s surface will be required to shed some kilos to pass. 435 435-2
