Longtime Rhode Island Lottery chief Gerald Aubin retiring
The longtime head of the Rhode Island Lottery is stepping down.
Gerald Aubin, who has served as director of the Lottery since 1996, announced Friday that he will retire in the spring after nearly a quarter-century in the job. He oversees both traditional games such as scratch tickets as well as the two state-owned casinos operated by Twin River.

Malfunction delays Saturday's Powerball lottery drawing

People hoping to win the Powerball jackpot Saturday night had to wait a little longer to see the numbers.
When viewers tuned in for the drawing, instead of seeing of bouncing balls the saw an empty lottery machine.

Official says first lottery games ready to play in 2019
The Vice-Chair of the newly-created Mississippi Lottery Corporation said in an interview this week that the state's first lottery games will be ready to play by the third quarter of 2019.

UK National Lottery to increase Lotto game prizes
Raffle side game will be dropped
United Kingdom National Lottery operator Camelot has announced it will be increasing the prize amounts for its Lotto game.
From November, players who match five or more balls plus the bonus ball will win a fixed 1 million (US$1.28 million).
Five balls will win at least 1,750 and four 140, both increases from their current estimated values, and three balls will net 30, up from 25 now.
This is up from an estimated 50,000 which is currently based on sale

Turmoil: Connecticut Lottery interim CEO quits
Frank Farricker, the Connecticut Lottery Corp.'s board chairman and interim CEO, resigned from both unpaid but influential positions Monday after drawing heavy criticism during a legislative inquiry into lottery officials' handling of the fraud-plagued 5 Card Cash lottery game.
Saying that he hopes to help the lottery agency by ceasing any further distractions, Farricker wrote to the quasi-public agency's general counsel, Matthew Stone, and said he was quitting immediately.
