Winners suing Illinois Lottery try to rope in other states
Multi-state lottery groups pushed back on Monday against a move by lottery winners in Illinois to drag dozens of states into a lawsuit against the Illinois Lottery's suspension of payments.
Illinois has halted payments on winnings of $600 or more due to the state's ongoing budget impasse.

Records show alcohol-related misconduct by former MN Lottery official
The former acting director of the Minnesota State Lottery was so drunk at conferences in Las Vegas, New York City, Miami and Indianapolis that she was suspended by Gov. Mark Dayton's chief of staff, according to records released Wednesday by the lottery.

A former top Minnesota Lottery official suing over her termination pleaded guilty Monday to a drunken-driving charge stemming from a serious car crash last December.
Johnene Canfield pleaded guilty in Ramsey County District Court to gross a misdemeanor charge of failing to submit to a chemical test. Judge: Wyoming Lottery lawsuit against man can continue
A judge has denied a Cheyenne man's request to dismiss a lawsuit the Wyoming Lottery Corporation is pressing against him that seeks to force him to stop criticizing it to national lottery groups and others.

N.C. Powerball winner's fiancé jailed for third time this year

The man engaged to the North Carolina woman who claimed a Powerball lottery jackpot share worth $188 million earlier this year was placed back in jail for the third time in less than a year on Monday.
Lamarr Andre McDow, also known as Hot Sauce, was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Lawmakers not happy with Lottery pushing the limits of law
Some Wyoming lawmakers say they're bothered the Wyoming Lottery Corp. considered introducing keno without their approval and they expect to introduce legislation limiting the lottery.

Georgia lottery officials question legality of fantasy sports companies
Georgia Lottery officials are questioning whether the daily fantasy sports industry can legally operate in the state, according to a letter sent last month to CEOs of DraftKings and FanDuel.
Georgia Lottery General Counsel Joseph Kim said in the Sept. 23 letter that the companies appear to violate the Georgia Constitution, which generally bans gambling except for state lottery-run games.

The outrageous Hot Lotto rigging scandal that started in Iowa is now spreading into other states including Texas. Officials are taking a second look at a $570,000 winning multi-state lottery ticket purchased a decade ago in Colorado by a Central Texas judge.
