I voted yes.  I think it will eventually..maybe even take some years.  I don't know how I'd react to being the only holder to a $500m jackpot.  I just think that $500,000,000 Annuity looks better than $236,534,995.09 Cash (after taxes).

Even with that kind of money after taxes you would need to hire a lot of security. and maybe move somewhere like Hollywood CA. where everybody else is rich. to be honest i don't know if a lot of stars have that kind of cash on hand except maybe Opra Winfrey. they make a lot of money but they spend a lot also.

Maybe is basically a Yes...Because it says do you think...These kinds of polls should encourage ppl to vote one straight way <yes or no> just something to keep in mind =P

by the way i vote no...when the pot gets past about 150 mil lots of ppl start playing to win so it will never get past 400 mil...

"A fool and his money are soon to part"

well at least i will have fun doing it

Cash ALWAYS is better than an annuity.

If the person is not responsible with money, then neither option is better than the other.  Even if such a person chose annuity, he or she would probably end up borrowing against future payments.

I don't think MM will reach 500 mil. California adds a lot of possible players and which could bring a bigger jackpot but it takes time to get there. Also it brings more combinations with new players to win, so I don't think it will roll over as much as it does now. We will see in the not so distant future.

I love doubles and remember, it's just a game!!!!!!

Actually, I don't think it will roll over any more or any less than it has in the past.  They've kept the player:odds ratio pretty much the same.

I don't share the enthusiasm of everyone else.  Increasing the number field makes it that much MORE difficult to WIN

Why do we let ourselves agree to stack the odds further against us for an increased prize amount when that sum of money is made that much more difficult to win?

Will someone please explain that to me?

the more numbers to choose from, the higher the odds and the more tickets to be purchased.
