Looked at new site.Looks great
I am not computer savvy so can not help on bugs unless I encounter something.
I posted a test message on my S.C. sheet. After posting message I got shutdown. Looks like I need to update windows or something.
I am not savvy on that so will need to have someone do it.

      four4me,

Thanks very much for the detailed feedback.  That helps immensely.  I'll try to address each of your points, not necessarily in order.

The color boxes may not be opening due to popup blocking or something like that.  The editor is an open-source editor used by several other sites, so I must conclude that it has been tested with AOL previously, and there is probably some popup setting that is blocking the box.  I don't have access to an AOL setup, so I rely on people like you to give me feedback on this stuff.

On the performance of the pages, it would be very useful to see if the increased load times are on the LP server or on AOL.  You can find this out by looking at the number of seconds it took to create the page (shown at the bottom of the page), and compare old vs. new.  The other possibility is that the new code is not cached by AOL yet, which actually may not be a bad thing.  AOL's annoying habit of caching everything sometimes keeps new changes from appearing until days after the change has been made.

The other possibility is that your browser is not caching various things like javascript and css files.  Again, I don't use AOL so I'm just guessing.

On your pasting with formatting, are you saying that when you paste the text directly into the editor (not into e-mail), that the text does not appear at all?  Is that why you paste it into e-mail first?

There is a "cleanup" button on the toolbar which is supposed to help clean up stuff that is pasted into the editor.  (It looks like a little paintbrush.)  Maybe try pasting your text directly into the editor, and then use the cleanup button.

What version of Windows, and what brand and version number of internet browser do you use?

Did your whole machine crash, or was it just the browser that closed?  Did you get a specific error message, and if so, what did it say?

        Lastly, can you try again?

Todd, did you get my answer on the thread I started?  I answered you in the "old" website and now, I'm on the New one.

All I did was post my message...did not Edit.  I was aware of the Edit/Delete in the original site and have used it at times....but, not this time.

I didn't see it, thanks for pointing it out.  Did it look strange when you first posted it, or did it look good?

Thanks Carbob.  Actually, I can't wait to get this major upgrade completed and out of the way, because I have lots of ideas that are waiting to be developed.  The problem has been that I need to wait until the upgrade is finished, so that I can do the development on the new, completed web site.

That's why the more testing that people can help me with, the better.  Personally, I only use the new site at this point, so that I can identify as many bugs as possible, as quickly as possible.  (The other thing it shows is that the new code is stable enough that I can do everything I need to on the new site.)

I promise not to rest on my laurels!

It is doing fine. Just web page shutdown. Restart without signing in.
All I see on start is that I am on msn1 internet explorer.
I will see if I can find version when I get computer help at end of day when help returns from work.

Ah, that's interesting - maybe there's a compatibility problem with MSN Explorer, which is different than Internet Explorer.

When I restart my computer to sign in again I have been getting a pop up for an msn messenger minor update for  version 7.0
                            If that will help.

Messenger is actually a different piece of software, but the MSN Explorer in your previous post may be helpful. When you start your browser, try finding the "About" box for the browser. Usually it is found in the Help menu (the right side of the window's menu), and the last menu option is normally "About so-and-so..." Try clicking that, and let me know what it says as far as product name and version number.
