Run from my job (not walk)...like there was a raging wild fire in the desert!

there will always be a few folks who still like to work regardless of how much money they have.if working makes them happy they will work no matter what...

I would set my parents up to where they would have all the comforts possible.. They deserve it..

I would open up accounts for my grandchildren and leave them huge sums..

I would be one of those who refuses to quit work...

There would be some new things I would start in education of our children..

I would go away for awhile because people you know and strangers would be asking for money. I would visit all the places I've wanted to see and donate and help people in need.

Is that dollars or pounds sterling? Let's assume pounds sterling.

          1) Buy...no, have designed and built my dream house.

          2) Set up my immediate relatives for life.

          3) Build an opera house in Harrogate (modelled on the one at Bayreuth - I'm a Wagner fanatic).

          4) Invest whatever's left and live like a king.

If I win 500 million, there are several reasons. I want to complete my BS Degree at CSU East Bay [Hayward]. I would tell the family to eliminate all the debt they had up to that point. I would buy two houses, one in Pleasanton and the other in Hayward where I go to school. I would also donate to Vietnamese charity because of my religion Buddhism.

If you're waiting for a 500 pound lottery that will be a long wait unless the pound starts to resemble the Mexican Peso or Turkish lira. Even Euromillions will probably never break 200 million (US dollars). But at least its cash and tax free which is more than you will get out of any US lottery.

i'd make a few purchases, but still work.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

I would probably do more than one option on that poll so I picked other.

I would still work, just not a 9 to 5 for someone else. I would invest in some franchises and some real estate. I would give a portion back to the Lord. I will be completing my BS in Information Systems Management this December so I would continue my education afterward and get a degree in finance. Money management would become a real concern. I would also educate myself on tax laws and find out who Oprah Winfrey's financial advisor and attorney's are, I would employ them to help me manage my money.

I would of couse by a nice house...modest though, nothing over a million dollars. Property taxes are horrible on these multi-million dollar homes. I'd take care of my family and make sure that my children's children would not have to work. (I don't have kids yet, but that is how long I want the money to last.)

I would travel a bit and just enjoy the money. Gotta keep working though! I think that I would get so bored if I did not work.

I would go the OPRAH route; FIND SOMETHING I ENJOY DOING; INVEST IN MY TALENTS & MYSELF, HELP OTHERS (who are OPEN MINDED, cause you can't help the closed minded) and live a FAB life; complete with Private jet, hollywood friends, and oh, i would starte a cable network and mag; to starte the advertising revenue.  And then i'd find a 3rd world country or a serious issue that needs money & support.  And, lest by not lest, i would SUE all the ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE GROSSLY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST ME & MY CIVIL RIGHTS!

First priority would be to ensure my daughter, and her children, never need to depend on any one again. Second priority would be to take care of (only) the family and (only) the friends that stood by me when I went through some terrible times. Lastly, I would open as many in-door gun ranges that I could, and give free concealed carry classes to as many people who wanted them Just to make the paranoid panic!

First I couldn't believe any current lottery would get that high. As far as my first reaction would be one of disbelief. I don't check my tickets but if I heard the winner was someone that wheeled tickets and the winning ticket was from Seattle I might check the tickets quicker than usual. Otherwise I would completely blow off my job. Might show up to get a few people's phone numbers but otherwise my motivation to work would go straight to hell.

Why would anyone want to work running franchises? I don't mean it as a critizm, to each is own. 500million dollars you could do alot with that. Help your family, donate to worthy causes. Travel live in belise among the natives, ride your bike across country.. Visit the pyrimids. find out if "there really out there Scully" put a toilet in your front yard and wave at your niehbors every  morning as they drive to work as you read the news paper. Go to puru and acutually see the land marking from an air plane.. and wonder who really put them there. and why is the guy holding the helmet waving? Drive your children to school in a horse and buggy, and when people ask you can say the hay is cheaper than gas. and just learn about people.
