Now nearly all those I loved and did not understand when I was young are dead, but I still reach out to them.
Of course, now I am too old to be much of a fisherman, and now of course I usually fish the big waters alone, although some friends think I shouldn't. Like many fly fishermen in western Montana where the summer days are almost Arctic in length, I often do not start fishing until the cool of the evening. Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise.

Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.

I voted for Rick G. I was about to ask him where he got it from. Then, I came accross this poll. Hope Rick G turns this one into a "solved mystery". His avatar intrigues me everytime I see it. I saw that face before, but have no clue where or when.

Yeh, for a while, I thought Rick G's avatar was his real picture, until I saw it somewhere in the internet - I don't recall where.

This is one poll where I voted for myself.  After 5 years, I still love my Vette!  (By the way, I created the avatar myself in Photoshop.)

My avatar comes right from good old Lottery Post. I actually do look somewhat like the picture.

But there's a whole lot of cool avatars in here. I couldn't pick out a favorite.

Mine is a stargate from Sg1. I tried to find the watery event horizon where the bubble explodes outward in animation. But there is none like it.

i'm not voting for anyone i think there all great. They show something about the person behind it kind of like a personality feature.

I am however drawn to the sifi stuff.

I had a harley doing a burnout but the guy that hosted the automated burnouts took his web page down. he offered free avatars as long as you linked back to his site.

I like the animated avatars and wish i could find a sifi one that fits me like maybe some space ship that goes to warp speed and returns to a fixed position in animation.

                    Scottie we need Warpspeedazillionnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

                                   I'm not Big John, I'm Four4me, Big John's a friend.

                      Hi Rick,

It's called the eye of the storm and I got if off of LP. Looks like an eye to me ( a stormy eye). I thought it suited me well.

I voted 'Other' in favor of Doubledown.

I dont' get to see enough blackjacks in this life, so I always get a bit of an uplift when I see one of his posts.

Heaven's a green felt table, a cold dealer and a six-deck shoe full of dealer 16s and player 11s.

Doubledown's posts ain't heaven, but they keep me religious.

                            J

                            Thanks amigo...

I need to see more blackjacks myself...

I agree w/ you about heaven being a green felt table, etc....with one more thing to top it off - a nice cold beverage of your choice and a babe on one arm...
