I thought mine was ok considering I knew I couldn't bring in my usual Avatar that I use elsewhere (it's not X-rated, but not PG either). But at least this avatar is somewhat fractal related and always liked those kind of images (second to those of the cute Ladies).

I don't have a favorite LP member or a favorite avatar. I do like Emily's kitty because of the tail.

Rip snorter's next to last one reminded me of the legend if Sisyphus:

Sisyphus (Greek Σίσυφος; transliteration: Sísuphos; IPA: 'sɪsɪfəs), in Greek mythology, was a king punished in the underworld by being set to roll a huge rock up a hill throughout eternity.

I like emilyg's tiger....in the days when most people were illeterate, casinos put up a banner with a tiger it to designate the Faro room... Faro was a veey popular game, almost all bets had no house edge except towards the end of the game, but even at that playing was known as "bucking the tiger".

Faro was on the cover of Kenny Roger's Gambler album - it has a layout that looks like an abacus with a deck of cards.

Thanks so much Coin Toss for that little bit of information. I used to study Greek Mythology, but so much of it has slipped out of my old brain.  Yes, I liked that avatar too. It sort of portrayed what we're all doing here.

You and I might be the only people on LP who knew what it was.  When I made the animation I thought it would get a lot of laughs.... eventually I figured out nobody knew what the hell it was.

I can't vote in this poll either folks!!! They all are so creative and unique, reflecting the personality of the owner. Who can compare a Leonardo with a Michaelangelo...not me!!! Wink

One thing i have seen in a posters signature that would make a good avatar is a lil lotto machine that spits out the balls from a snorkle. That is so cool.

                  I agree.

I've tried 19 ways from Sunday to make that selfsame icon.  Never managed it because I needed some photos, but it would be difficult to do anyway icon-sized..... 100 pixels square ain't easy to keep recognizeable for what it is.

Made a pair of hands juggling red and white balls once, but it's lost somewhere inside my hard drive.

I've always thought it would be a lot better known if it didn't sound so much like and STD that eats holes in your brain.

                      Jack,

I liked the avatar you had on before this one...Looked like a racoon shooting an AK47. At least this poll has generated some interest in avatars. Never paid too much attention to them before but will from now on. And the animated ones are the best.

I voted for Rick G. I was about to ask him where he got it from. Then, I came accross this poll. Hope Rick G turns this one into a "solved mystery". His avatar intrigues me everytime I see it. I saw that face before, but have no clue where or when.

Yeh, for a while, I thought Rick G's avatar was his real picture, until I saw it somewhere in the internet - I don't recall where.

My avatar comes right from good old Lottery Post. I actually do look somewhat like the picture.

But there's a whole lot of cool avatars in here. I couldn't pick out a favorite.

PS to this...my friends say I look just like Greg Brady from "The Brady Bunch" so that's why I picked it. Doesn't he look like the wholesome lad from the "hit" TV series?

The one you're referring to is one of my cat's holding the world at bay with a S&W .357 Magnum.

I wasn't happy with the resolution at 100X100 pixels, but maybe I'll run it up again sometime, or maybe work on it some more..... right now it looks like a racoon shooting an AK.

I've always been fond of the one I just ran up.  Made it from a photo of one of the best surviving early 1900s vintage cigar store Indians I've ever come across.
