I agree with KY Floyd as well.  The game cannot be random if they alter the game to keep people from winning, and their costs down.  I voted "They don't need to."

It would truely be a waste of time for the lottery commission to research the methods that people use to win.  It's a business, and it's a game.  They WANT people to win.  It doesn't matter, win or lose, people will still play.

The Ohio Lottery grosses $20-$25 million in INSTANT ticket sales alone every week  I'm betting on more people playing MM and instants than they do P3 and P4.

Instant scratch-off tickets represent 57.4% of all lottery sales so you are correct.

For the fiscal year 2006:

Pick-3: 17%

Mega Millions: 10%

Pick-4: 7.9%

Lot 'O Play: 3.4%

Rolling Cash 5: 3.3%

The Kicker: 1%

Thanks for the stats Stack47.  I was looking for something like that but I couldn't find anything.

    Keep it simple

There is one statistic that suggests there would be no reason to research systems and methods and that would be the online games "prize payout percentage" of 49.4%.

according to lottery hidden secrets, it looks like the lottery have people researching OTHER people's systems...

This is an excerpt from their website: "National lotteries from U.S, U.K. and from Europe have already send us emails asking us to stop giving this secrets. They said it's a bit unfair to the rest of players who play thousands of dollars each year and win nothing."

I can't confirm it but according to them is true...
