I would have to vote none of the above.  If there is a name on the back of that ticket, I would try to locate the owner.  I don't need bad karma. I wouldn't ask for a finders fee.  If the owner is a decent person he/she should have no problem offering a finders fee...I know if I was the owner of that ticket I would GLADLY offer a finders fee.

I didn't vote, but I would do my best to get it back to it's rightful owner.  I'm a firm believer of karma- what you put out will definitely come back in some way, shape or form.  I'd let it be up to the true winner if it was worth giving me a cut.  If it turns out the winner decides not to, I know I will get my blessing some other way.  I'm not saying it would be easy to do...give up $40M that could change my life for the better.  But time has just shown me that when you do right, it comes back to you so much bigger and better.  I wouldn't want to screw that up!!

        1. Return Ticket to the Rightful Owner!

        2. Ask for No Reward!

        3. Accept Reward if Offered!

I should have made give back a choice so in a way I messed up the poll.

I'll do better in the future though.

              I agree!I Agree!

I do beleive if the persons name is on the back you can't cash it anyways without identification... so if your not him, your not getting it anyways.... at least up here in Canada I think its that way.  I know they asked me for a piece of i.d. when I cashed a $1300 ticket... 40 million... definately.

I agree with the above answer if there is an owners name, I would try to find them , I'm sure they would offer you a nice reward, but some people wouldnot, I trust if that was the case something even better would come to me down the road.

If there is no name, and I have no clue  that is a different story.

I would try return the ticket to the owner,I dont know what rule is in each state when someone else name is signed on the ticket.

Obviously the right thing to do would be return the ticket to the owner but not to expect

a reward is ridiculous.  I'd almost be in negotiating mode with the owner, but not to that extent

I wouldnt be greedy but whatever we agreed upon would have to be notorized and approved

by legal counsel.  We'd have plenty of time to come up with something fair, say 1%.  The odds of

finding a winning lottery ticket of that magnitude has to be in the ballpark of winning the

game itself if not more.  To just gleefuly run the LOST ticket back to the owner, well lets

just say I'd have to be fresh off a jackpot win myself to go that route.  The money would have

gone to the school fund if it wasnt for me finding the ticket so I'd have to say the little I would

want the owner wouldnt even miss.

Do not know what he would do but I believe he probably could multiply the 40 Mil, like the bread and fish; and give us all a little bit to enjoy.
