I finished adding a new page to Lottery Post that examines the current web browser you're using across a variety of metrics, and reports the level of compatibility with Lottery Post.

Any problems are clearly identified, along with solutions to fix them.

A nice feature is that the login page now silently tests your browser before logging in, and will automatically go to the trouble report if it senses something that will cause problems with the login.

There is a feature that will let anyone send me a copy of their report right from the page, so I can assist if necessary.  Feel free to use the "Send to Administrator" page whenever you feel it's necessary.

http://www.lotterypost.com/browser.aspx

The page is available anytime from the Resources menu as "Browser Compatibility Test".

I have 2 warnings. One  for browser type, and the other for browser window. I also have 2 infos. The infos are about my clock and zones. I can't keep the clock in the correct time. For some reason, when I fix it to the correct time, the next time I log in it goes back to being an hour ahead. It's been like this since I bought my computer.

              Todd, neat feature!

               Mine told me this:

You are using Firefox 1 which is supported, but we no longer test for compatibility. You are at risk that some features may not work or appear as intended. Upgrade to the latest version of Firefox.

Just as an FYI for everyone with Firefox, this is dated Jul 12 07:

The Truth Behind the IE-Firefox Exploit
              Jennifer LeClaire, newsfactor.com
Thu Jul 12, 11:43 AM ET

Before the sun set on Microsoft's Patch Tuesday this month, security firm Secunia discovered a vulnerability in Firefox that malicious hackers could exploit to compromise a user's system. Here's the catch: Exploiting the bug depends on interaction between Mozilla's browser and Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

While security researchers did plenty of finger-pointing earlier in the week -- with some saying Microsoft is to blame and others holding Mozilla responsible -- the issue has yet to be resolved.

Secunia said the Firefox flaw should be ranked alongside Microsoft's July patches in terms of priority. Why the urgency? The Firefox flaw represents an active zero-day exploit, according to Paul Zimski, senior director of market strategy for PatchLink, a provider of vulnerability-management solutions. The good news, he said, is that the risk is limited to those who have Firefox 2.0.0.2 or later installed.

Just so everyone is aware, any security bugs that may exist with the latest versions of Firefox (or IE for that matter) are far less significant than the security bugs that exist in older versions, like version 1.x.

If you are holding off on upgrading because of warning about a current exploit, don't!

Any bugs that are revealed now will not pose a threat any time soon, because it takes time to build and propogate hacks.  There will be a patch released long before any exploits could get into your hands.

The bottom line is always upgrade to the latest release if you are a Firefox user!  Always set the feature to automatically upgrade!

Everything was fine except for a browser warning. Is this upgrade to IE free?

IE upgrade is free, but I have not been able to do it because it interferes with another program I use and I have to wait for the problem to be corrected.  Otherwise, I think it is perfectly safe.
