Posting a jackpot win on the internet would probably turn out to be one of the most regrettable things a person could ever do.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I'd probably tell. Who cares if you get inundated with PMs? You don't have to read them or reply to them. And how would anyone be able to stalk you through this forum? The only person who has any useful information (email, IP address, etc) is Todd, and hopefully he's not a stalker! If someone can track me down through the name "CaliWinner", more power to them. They're more likely to be able to stalk me through the fact that winners are publicly announced in most states.

Welcome to Lottery Post and good luck!

I'm not disagreeing or starting an argument, since we all have our opinions, but I want to reply to this comment since, after all, this forum is called a Lottery Discussion.  Smiley

Let's say I buy a Lotto ticket tonight, spend $3 and win $38 million.  If I post it, anyone can look at the announcement on the FL site and see my name, age, city.   You might ask "so what?"  It just draws more attention to another 50,000 or so people who visit LP.  Most people who read the newspaper glance at the name and, if they don't know the winner, shrug and say "Good for her."  I think it would be different on the internet.  It might not stop at PMs.  Why draw more attention to yourself?  Then you are also inviting every nutcase on the web to claim "She told me she'd split it" or "She used numbers that I posted."  If you go back through the news articles posted on this board, you'll read about a lot of frivolous lawsuits.  A quick pick might be a little different.  Still, there are people who imagine that just because we're all on the same "team" so to speak, we'll all share our winnings with other LP members.

I would share with LittleOldLady and Pacattack.  I trust they will not let anyone here or there to know I won.   RIGHT!

If you checked your tickets and realized you hit that big one, would you share here with the LP members?

For me... No wouldn't tell if I have or if I do.

I'd probably tell only Todd  and then ask him to tell everyone that "someone" here won but chooses to remain anonymous.  I'd stay on the site as though nothing happened.

I would then love to start a poll with the question "Which member do you think won the lottery?"Of course I can't do it because you'd all know it was me because of this post.

Remember you gotta find me first!

I think some of the more "optimistic" members forget there many more people reading than the friendly people you talk to regularly.

I would be forced to tell Todd.  For the upcoming interview and local TV appearance, I want an LP cap and a huge LP t-shirt.  If Todd has a halloween mask with Lottory Post on it, I would want that, too.  I would have so many LP logos on my body, no one would know it was me.

I would tell LP, since lottery winners in Norway are guaranteed anonymity if they want.

But don't come asking for money...
