I Agree! I am personally not impressed with software that expires after 1 year.  You should make people want to upgrade by offering new versions/features every year, not by crippling their software after a year.  It looks like you spent a good amount of time trying to tighten up the appearance of the software, and it looks fine, but you really should re-think the licensing.

Exactly. While I understand the reasoning behind, this licensing policy may be redundant to many, myself included. I don't have problems with paying for upgrades etc in due course, but I'd like a nonexpiring initial version, not linked to annoying online verification every time I run a program. Piracy is a big problem nowadays, but I guess it can be dealt in more elegant way than this.
On the side note, I still think the program is expensive, but that's only my subjective opinion from where I stand, only the author can valorize his knowledge, time and efforts put in development. The judgment is made by the market though.

Well... I understand your comments about the licensing system.

The truth is that it is very difficult to please everyone though...

Look at it from this perspective...

If we charge 200 $ for an unlimited version no one would be pleased with that ! Right ?

If we charge 100 $ ... some folks are still going to think it's too expensive

If we charge less than 100 $ ... Would that compensate the 8 years spent on research for developing our forecast algorithm ??

But... if we charge a small sum for a time limited license... you can still change your mind and stop using it when the license expires...

You will have spent less this way !!!

And if you really like the software ... it probably means that you have won money while playing with it...

hmm Guess that solves the problem completely...

        Kind Regards,

        Marco

          Hi Marco,
Am I correct in my understanding that basically you're counting on lots of short term licenses? Because one year subscription is already priced around 130 $ and, although expensive, that would be more suitable for nonexpiring version in terms of both compensation for your work and attracting customers which dislike time limited licenses.

              hungrylight,

you'll need to activate the trial, trial code is sent to your e-mail addy and then you can use it offline after online authorization...it's a nice prog, I hit 4 from 10 using poolx100 today in my 7/39 BUT IMHO licensing is the weakest part a.t.m.

You would probably make more money selling it for $10 than you would selling it for $200.  That's all I'll say, because it's your product, and not my place to go any further unless asked.

                        hungrylight,

Don't know if this might help you but you can give it a shot...I have 2 user accounts on my comp, and I can run the prog only from my admin account from where I have activated the trial, the other one reports some kind of errors.

Sorry mate, but I haven't been crying over anything. And I'm entitled to my opinion, I like the program, I don't like the licensing. Maybe you're an old user so you don't care about licensing, but new users do, you can bet on it.

I apologize its just that it has been a very long time for us veteran lottosync users waiting for an upgrade thatthe slightest little bit of squabbling sends me over the edge!
