In Michigan, I would like to see it be made public to all taxpayers....lol  (taxpayers...that's a great line) I would like it be made public, why the Michigan Lottery has a 21min. window from the time the bet slip terminal closes out for the current evening draws at 7:08pm to the time the current game drawings take place at 7:29pm.

Let it be known about the machine test draws.

Convert all pick 5 & pick 6 drawings back to Mechanical or Pneumatic from Computer, (at least the taxpayers can see and record what's going on)

And, if most of revenues from the state lottery are going to schools, let it be known why schools have closed, and or having reduced funding.

I'd let it be known why a portion of the lottery revenue is directed toward the State's General Fund and what's it's being used for.

Thankyou State and Lottery Officals for your time,

L J1

Maryland lottery also run an animated horse race and Keno games which are computer generated. The computers that generate the games are very, very tight. If you sit and play the games daily, and for hours on end, you will notice that the the computers are programed to steer the winning numbers or horses away from the ones that you actually pick.

Oh yes, you can win. I have had a few big wins, but doing trail picks on the games over a half of this year, has lead me to this conclusion. TRY IT!

I want the MDLottery to loosen their computer programs!   LOL

Keno style games pay out a percentage of the take in amount. The game is just like the one arm bandits almost.

Since the games are in short intervals 3 to 5 minutes they might take in 500 bucks for one game and pay out 350 bucks.

If you win playing keno or racetrax you got lucky.

Big John says. You don't hit the number. The number hits you!!!!

Ohio has all the standard games that most states have,$1-$20 scratch-offs, pick3/4 (mid-day and evening), pick5 (5/39 daily), pick6 (6/49 three times weekly), Keno (twice daily) and a multi-state game, MegaMillions.

The only thing I might change is the payouts of our Classic Lotto to a more generous amount similar to Michigan's Classic Lotto47 (6/47) which pays $5 for a match3 (Ohio $2), $100 for a match4 (Ohio $75) and $2500 for a match5 (Ohio $1500).

All prize money should be tax-free, as in the UK and Australia!

If I could change one thing about the TX lottery I would have the Cash 5 jackpot roll........as it is now, if nobody matches 5/5 the state pockets most of the money...although they do roll some into the 4/5 and 3/5 payouts.....pari-mutel payout.

It's interesting to see what the Cash 5 payouts used to be a few years ago. I think the game has gotten stale, and the payouts suck because not as many people play it.

Mike.....this is a 5 star question and thread if I ever seen one.   Great  Question    !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would change a lot with the Ky. Lottery

Their web site is laid out pretty well....so cant complain about that.....the numbers are seperated good and in red and kinda jump out at you.

But....... I dont like test draws.......but....if you are gonna have them......knock yourselve  out........but at  least  list and show them to the players.....some states do I  have heard.....Ky. does not....that is an unfair advantage to the players in my opinion.

Next thing.....Ky. should take the black bar from accross the screen during the TV evening  Pick  3  draw....all I see is a ball or two hop  up  here and there....and then it is a quick close  up shot of the three balls coming up in Pick  3.  Cant even see the complete hopper ( what  are they trying to hide ). Show the compete hopper and balls in a big room with all the balls hopping around (  do it  like Ohio does their drawing on TV )

These are the two main things that bug me about the Ky. drawings ( especially on the Pick  3 )

But a few more are.......it would be nice if people could play for 25 cent also......and adust the prize down for that, The world would beat a path to their door if they done that I bet.

Also......pay more for a straight....and for a box.......I know Ky. pays more than most states....but all Pick  3 games in all states are designed  against the player.

If they done that...they could compete much better with the off shore places...and most people would play in state........if it was as good a deal ( or even close )

So......Bet for a quarter.......pay more......do away with the test draws....or at least show the test draw results........and show everything out in the open.........complete hopper.......all the balls......and take that  dang black bar from accross the screen during the pick 3 drawing

I dont chase it....but go ahead and turn the 888 loose.....it has been out   for 5 years ( come this September 23rd. evening draw )  Locked out every draw.............imagine the money made on that one

The Ky player  plays and spends  his money in Good Faith........( as all players do in all states )....so then treat the player in good faith....and run a more Fair game .

But I got a feeling ...........it aint gonna happen   !!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently moved to Kentucky from Ohio and where I lived was close enough to PA and WVA that I could play those lottery games too. Each state has its share of player friendly games along with some stinkers. If I designed a state lottery, for online games I would use Kentucky's Pick-3 format with the $600 to $1 payoffs, eliminate the Pick-4 games and use PA's Quinto, use Ohio's Rolling Cash 5, WVA's Cash 25, and maybe throw in Ohio's Ten-O. There is no reason to run a 6/49 lotto when most players prefer Powerball or Mega Millions; personally I would pick Powerball because of the power play option. Each player has their own favorite games but the lottery executives choose games based on volume of play.

As for test drawings, knowing the results is like pouring salt onto a wound if "your number" was drawn during a a test. The only advantage for the players knowing the results is giving us enough time to make a bet before the drawing. But test drawings are made to insure the machinery is working properly so it would defeat the purpose if it was done 3 or 4 hours before the actual drawing. To avoid malfunctions they have to test just before the live drawings. There really isn't much difference in saying "but the machines were in fine working order four hours ago" or "they worked fine in last night's drawing" when there is a malfunction during a live drawing.

Kentucky uses the Kicker option with its Cash Ball game and Ohio uses it with Mega Millions. It's fine with me as long as I don't get a Kicker number when I'm not playing it, but we get it whether we want it or not. A few years back the person announcing the live drawings was actually taunting players by saying "a player from Cleveland had all 6 numbers, but said 'NO' to the Kicker and didn't win $100,000 for an extra buck".

Quarter and Dime bets are an interesting option but it's doubtful it would increase the volume of play very much so from the lottery's and retailers' point of view, it would mean just more paper work.

In Ohio's Pick-3 game 023 skipped over 11,000 drawings being drawn. Would it be more "fair" if Kentucky rigged its game so 888 is drawn because it's been absent for only 5 years?
