Simple: Powerplay.

in order to double your winnings, you first must win.

So far, in Texas, it seems more people are playing MM than PB.

I'm sure a lot of people base their decision on which game to play on which jackpot is higher. Since Mega Millions is higher at the moment, and being that the odds are slightly better, it's safe to assume more people would be playing Mega Millions at the moment.

and now powerball on our #9 roll again , but its not 96m, its freaking 139m

or cash was $48,100,000 then in late 2009 , and its  $67,600,000 now on its 9th draw this year!

mega millions has the same thing going on, much faster rolling

compared to just late last year, the jackpots are rolling sky high setting new draw records for ever drawing it rolls

right now pb has set a new record for its level at a  9th roll without being hit,

along with MM, this cross selling has helped both big time ,

as for what game is better now, thro

i sure say, thanks to powerball 30 average annual payments, and that

mega millions will always offer you the better odds

and Best Cash jackpots hands down

, powerball for looks only and marketing,

a high mm jackpot will crush any high pb jackpots in cash value any day of the year

both games are great thro, just pb has a stupid weakness or "cap" on how big its cash jackpots can get

mm has no such weakness, so its the clear winner

Has anyone done any comparison between MM & PB as far as historical numbers/draws go? I have data on PB that goes back to 1992 (including test draws) if anyone has a lot of data available for MM...

I just keep my foot in the door on both games for all draws. Afterall, somebody is gonna win and it's as likely to be me as much as anyone else.

It's worth a coupla bucks to me for that chance.

I have the official drawings of both games going back to their first drawings under different names.  Since their matrices have changed over the years, comparing their earliest drawings to todays drawings doesn't reveal much useful data.
