So have a little bit of a rant tonight. I went to a convenience store that is usually very slow because I am tired of nosy people telling me how to spend my money. First of all, I work three jobs seven days a week so if I want to piss off my money that is my problem. Well, this old man comes in the store and he is talking with the clerk and he looks at me and says " You need to pay my electric bill". So I said "Excuse me but do I know you?"  Anyway, he says no you don't but you are wasting all your money on cardboard so I figured you can help me out. I try to ignore him but he keeps making snide remarks. He tells me people are starving and I'm spending money on this crap. After I bought two more tickets, he tells the sales clerk " I am leaving, I cannot stand to watch this anymore". I just cannot believe the audacity of random strangers coming in to stores and getting into another person's business. Do any of you guys have this problem and what do you say to someone like that?? I know the answer is to scratch at home or in my car,  but I always buy several tickets so that doesn't work for me. I really want to be able to scratch my tickets without someone saying something rude and obnoxious. I don't always win,  but I have been having a good string of luck lately and I am enjoying myself. That is all for now. I just wanted to say how I feel about this. Good luck everyone!

If that was me i would of bought another $100 worth right in front of him.

What?!?!?!? I'd be thoroughly ticked off too! Hahaha, who does he think he is? He probably leaves a dollar tip at a restaurant, yet he talks about how other people need money. He didn't just hand over any of his money to the clerk did he? Heck, I tip $20 to the clerk who cashes any $500 winner I get. I wonder if that guy is giving away ANY of his money? He sounds so crotchety that I bet we know the answer to that one. I hope you hit a Grand Prize soon!

All I played yesterday were the last 3 $2 Strike it Rich tickets in the roll and a $3 Pyramid Riches. The last Strike it Rich ticket (#149) won $20 with a strike symbol.

The day before lost yet again on 1 Max-a-Million ticket.

Email response I got from the Florida Lottery regarding the terrible (worst ever) odds of 1:750 to hit $500 in the new $20 game, Super Millions.

"Play the Florida Lottery's newest $20 Scratch-Off game, SUPER MILLIONS, featuring more than $300 million in total cash prizes, including 12 top prizes of $3 million."

        Dear Mr. J......

Thank you for writing the Florida Lottery. In response to your email, it is imperative that we address the issue you raise concerning fairness of Lottery games and particularly Scratch-Off games, as we realize that our customers are dependent on the complete integrity of the Florida Lottery. Knowing this, we apply constant due diligence in safeguarding the integrity of each Lottery game.  The number of winning tickets seeded into each Scratch-Off game has not been reduced, nor have the odds of winning been tampered with or falsely advertised in any way.  Moreover, since this and all lottery Scratch-Off games are seeded in a completely random fashion, they inherently allow for several winning or non-winning tickets to fall in a variety of sequences within each book of Scratch-Off tickets.  This randomness, which allows for a purchase with consecutive non-winning tickets, does not invalidate the odds of winning or falsify their accuracy in any way.  Though the publicized odds of winning for any game are reflective of a ratio of probabilities, they by no means provide a certainty for winning by purchasing a specific number of tickets.  This in itself would nullify the randomness of the games.  Since all Lottery games are random, every player has the same odds of purchasing a winning ticket.

As a responsive state agency, a big part of the Florida Lottery's efforts are to offer games with strong player appeal, and we are sorry that your experience in playing this game did not meet your expectations.  Our customers are our number one priority, and while we understand your disappointment, we hope this information helps to alleviate your concerns regarding the fairness of Florida Lottery games.

If you should have additional questions, please write  back or contact the Customer Service office at (850) 487-7787 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and a representative will gladly assist you.

That guy didn't even address your concern. That is a shame. You weren't talking about the randomness of tickets, which is understandably a touchy subject since they seem to force more bad areas in than even odds areas. PA has that same problem.

I'd have simply ignored him and continued on with what I was doing. The general population isn't worth paying attention, especially these kinds of people.

IF you wanted to have some fun with the guy, I'd have said this: "Well you see sir, I'm a millionaire... I hit some big money on lottery tickets a while back and I figure it's my duty to reinvest". It would get him fired up on two accounts, he would believe your stinking rich and that even worse your throwing it all away!

Let people think what they want to think, their stupidity isn't worth you getting worked up.

On a side note, I haven't played any tickets at all in a while. I'm awaiting several sorta big pay offs including my tax refund and someone who owes me a lot of cash from a side job. I might play a few once I get that money, but it's been business as usual in PA. Haven't been winning anything. But I haven't been losing either, since I haven't been playing! Pretty sure the last $60 or $70 worth I've played were all duds.

              Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the support and great answers. I wish I had a quick comeback when people say stupid crap to me in the stores. I think I will use the one about me being a millionaire. That is really funny!!

Drop the c-stores and buy your tics at a grocery store like Tom Thumb where they have vending machines. I never have busy bodies bothering me.

I was down about $45 for the day yesterday.  I had won $50 off 1 $10 Club Casino ticket and did ok on some other tickets.  Later in the evening I played $20 Hit the Jackpot.  I played 4 (#3-6) and ended up winning $25 on the 4th.  I am staying away from the $20 tickets for a while since I have not been able to win within the stated odds.

This morning I bought 2 $5 Monopoly and 1 Great Big Bingo.  I won $10 off 1 of the $5 Monopoly tickets and lost on the Great Big Bingo.  On my lunchbreak I bought 1 $3 Hearts are Wild Tripler (#56), 1 $5 Monopoly (#35), and 1 $5 Red Hot Riches.  The Red Hot Riches lost but the $3 Hearts are Wild Tripler won $5, and the $5 Monopoly won $50 which was nice.  It had 4 matches so I thought it was $20 since the first prize I scratched won $5.  The other 3 numbers ended up having $15 prizes under them which I haven't not seen before.

I got kind of lucky after work when I stopped to cash those tickets I had won on.  I like to go to the Safeway and take all the losing tickets out of the trash can so I can enter them online for points for prizes and raffle entries.  One of the Big Cash Multiplier tickets (#55) had a number match of 29 for a prize of $10 and the bottom of the ticket had a 5X multiplier ($50 total prize)!  I thought that was cool that was the biggest winning ticket I have ever found discarded.  I wished good luck to who ever threw that 1 away.

They use 'its random' to basically state some (most) rolls are complete garbage and return below the advertised odds.  Since Florida has no minimum return guarantee they can get away with filling a roll with 15 straight $20 duds. Have you asked what is the maximum amount of winning tickets you can get on a roll ?

I only tried 2 of the Super Millions Tickets #000/#001, both were duds. I have no interest in playing this game any further. Just not worth it.

Looking at the Odds, some mentioned that they got only $245 back after purchasing a full roll. This seems to be minimum returnable value per the game odds (6 x $20) + (1 x $25) + (1 x $30) + (1 x $40) + (1 x $50) = $245, as they list the odds for $100 slightly higher than 1 in 30. But even with that $100 in the roll (probably at the expense of another winner), folks will still lose at least $250 per roll. Even in the scenario with 1 $200 winner and a couple $100 winners, they probably worked the math of the rest of the winners to total $580 or $590, still making money.

Thus, it appears that there's only a 1 in 25 chance of profiting off of a roll. But even if you find the $500, it will probably be at the expense of the $50 winner where they make it that you only make $95-$110, not enough given the risk of shelling our $600 for a pack.

Of course this all goes out the window for people lucky enough to snag a $3M prize, one of which I'm sure will get awarded shortly.

I dont know how many canned responses I have received from the lottery that read just like that.  Im with you James, I believe they know exactly where they send all the tickets, with the number of tickets that have been bought by the collective on here, do you think a 20 or 100k ticket would have been won by now.

                            biggest hit 10k, Jubilee, 5K Miami Heat, 2K Emerald 8s, 1k jubilee, 1k GRT, 1k heat wave, multiple 500's

good luck in the chase 2013 wins, maybe 4 500's

I completely understand that not all tickets can be winners. But when your buying 15 each of $10-$25 tickets and there all duds there's a huge problem. This happens to me quite often. mistly with $10 tickets. I have spent $300 on $25 tickets to not even get a winner. Most likely when this happens there are a bunch of winners lumped together. However I have only seen 5 winners back to back. That's why us cheers really should only buy 1-2 tickets and not chase. This is how we loose our butts off. I know it's easier said then done.
