I don't know about you, but every time I play I have the feeling this time it's gonna work and when I don't win a jackpot I feel depressed for about five minutes, ten if I spent too much and I'm back to working the numbers for the next draw knowing I will win soon when the time is right or something.  How about you?

I have to say, unfortunately, that I have had some "let-downs" when I discover I am not the winner. I was just so sure.... but that's been only a few times. Still, I can't believe how upset I was over them! It was embarrassing!

But to me, I look at buying lottery tickets as entertainment: 1 - you have to play to win  2 - it's cheaper than a movie ticket  3 - gives me delight as I go to sleep, debating over whether or buy a house on a lake or a house on a beach.

I still haven't decided yet.

Expecting to win the lottery is kinda like expecting to step on a plum. Think about it, it just don't happen that often. And it ain't likely to happen. That's not to say that anybody would be hoping to step on a plum anyway. And admit it, how many times in your life have you ever stepped on a plum? If you're honest, you'll admit you've never stepped on a plum. And if you saw the plum you'd probably walk around it.

In retrospect, I don't think this is a very good analogy.

    Forget I ever mentioned it.

LOL rdgrnr! Maybe it's like finding one pretzel nugget in a bag of twists. Has anyone ever done

that? I'm going to use that analogy instead. First you have to like and buy pretzels. Second it can only

be the brand with the blue bag....I've never seen a nugget in a bag of twists from another company. I think

they do it to be funny...I didn't think it was funny the first time I found one though..I hate the nuggets.

I'm using this example because winning the lottery for some people may be like finding one of those

nuggets in the bag...it doesn't happen often but it can happen and more than once too.

I've found about 5 nuggets in thin twist bags so far - I'm expecting to find more. Funny, there's only one

nugget per bag...makes me think they're laughing at the packing company.

And as far as this poll question goes: I'm expecting to win when I play. My wins do not match the nuggets

yet but I'm working on it. Right now, I'm 1/5. Maybe within the next 5 nuggets or maybe longer. It's coming

    though.

so... plums or pomegranites or figs

were some fruity folks around here ; )

      Be careful, rukiafae.

There are people from the west coast here.

They're nice people but extremely sensitive.

      I could tell you stories.

I like the nugget in the twists story better than another one I heard, dr.

I heard about somebody getting an order of fried chicken at a drive-in theatre and when they bit into a leg, it turned out to be a breaded, deep-fried mouse!

Wonder what the odds are on that one?

I correctly predicted the winning Pick-3 number one night, but I FORGOT TO BUY A TICKET! AAARGH!

Today's winning 3-ball is going to be a number between 000 and 999.

In a lot of states, lotteries benefit education. That makes the REAL winners the only people who can't play!

I expect the win the feeling of hope that maybe this ticket might change my life for the better...so I am never bummed when my numbers don't match because each and every day there is a drawing and I have a ticket for that draw gives me a wonderful feeling of hopeful optimism.

Get MONEY!!! Winning a JACKPOT lottery is all the HOPE and CHANGE I desire!!!  NOW give me MONEY!US Flag

The guy who won the presidency in 2008 really won the lottery...he is now millions richer, travels in first class style, and even has a staff that would be the envy of the richest Powerball winner (she has a staff of 2). Every night he goes to sleep, he probably plays the close of Dave Chappelle's Show: I'm rich beyatch!

Does stepping in cat vomit count?  Feels a lot like a rotten plum in the dark.

Had an interesting scratch win today.  Don't scratch much, that site that tells which tickets have the most prizes left targeted this one . . .

13 dollar 3 Times Lucky Tickets, match your number to the winning number win that prize.

                    Winning Number 8

                    5 boxes

                    8 8 8 8 8

                    All prizes were $2.00

All told spent $13 won $12.  with the sixth $2.00 prize on another ticket.  Wasn't sure I'd ever see a scratch ticket where you really did win five times.

Stepping in that isn't that rare, Bob.

I actually did it myself about a month ago in the dark. I think I pulled a groin muscle when I slid in it too.

But if it works for winning...

As long as I'm not barefooted.

                      I would really hate that.
