Yesterday my wife, daughter and I were the guests of a chef (our daughter very recently introduced us to the chef) at an upscale restaurant where the chef is the owner of the restaurant. (I had no idea the restaurant we were going to was as nice as it was. It's located in Connecticut and my wife and I had never been to it. We'd never even heard of it.)
We were seated at our table by the Maitre-d, and ordered our drinks and dinners. While we were having our dinner, the chef came out of the kitchen to visit with us. The chef is a woman, and she told me that she had been told by my daughter that I "like to play the lottery". I said that was correct and that I play often.
The chef called the Maitre-d over to our table and said to him that he should tell me about his "good fortune." The Maitre-d told me that in 2010, he "matched five numbers and won $250,000 playing Mega Millions."
He also said: "I was unemployed at the time, and used the last four quarters that I had on me to buy my quick pick." Needless to say I was stunned.
The Maitre-d told me that he netted $171,000 and he used some of the money to help his family, and that he was sorry he could not have done more for them but he has "three son's who are going to college soon so I could only do so much for my sisters and brothers."
Keep playing guy's. Keep playing! I'm gonna keep playing even if I'm down to my very last dollar bill! G5
