The moron scientist/plumber calls me stupid. Hey, I told you I have a bridge for sale, really really cheap. You can sell it in 20 years for a real nice profit. Now that's a great investment.

Just send me 300 bucks a week until it's paid off.

Geesh, what a shmuck !!

what a Great daySun Smiley

Thanks, drinking, smoking, and doping is destructive behavior. Play a few dollars per draw is NOT.

I have a suggestion, a real good investment. Put some of that lottery investment money away and at the end of the year go see a shrink.

But I think even a shrink can't fix your depth of stupidity. Cause once you tell him about your ingenious investment plan, he'll throw you out of his office.

Hey helpmewin, I have a real good investment plan I just thought up now.

Send me 100 bucks a week, and If an asteroid lands in my living room, I'll mail it to you. Those things are worth a lot of money. But it'll be a nice nest egg for ya.

C'mon, don't be so hesitant, afterall, asteroids meteorites hit the earth all the time. So that's my logic see?

Zac did follow up my response with a PM and an offer to chat with him which I turned down since I didn't think there was anything in my response he couldn't have known after reading a few LP posts.

There are lots of people playing lotteries and I don't think their playing effect their lives any more than any other pleasures that cost money.  State lotteries didn't invent gambling but took advantage of it by making it possible for anyone with the money to participate in games that could pay millions for as little as a dollar.

                  Thanks for confirming.

Yeah, I didn't think he'd have discussions in-thread.(especially after it went off the rails) Instead contacting people for one on one interviews, and only for those that were receptive and didn't seem like a nutjob.

I agree there are probably lots of casual lottery players, only playing 1 or 2 lines on jackpot games, for a total of a few hundred dollars a year. The thing about the lottery is how slow the play can be (except scratchers) compared to a casino, only 1 play every few days. Sure the return is horrible for lottery, 50-60% (5-10% actual) versus casino games at 95-99%. But that casino player could go only one day a year and blow through $1000 at 60-80 hands per hour with the steady grind.

I have seen a dozen or more left wind whack jobs come and go from LP in the past year or so. They cant survive in an environment where the general public can respond at will. I'm sure Zac knows these facts and will stay behind the safety of his writing pen and sit com scripts where he can shun interaction with people.

It is a great day, and I'm looking forward to Mega day tomorrow when I can make another deposit into my retirement account. Who knows, perhaps tomorrow will be the day I make a large withdraw?

"Here, Bissonnette debunks Lustig's advice and gives his not-so-gentle take on why CNN flubbed this one big time."

Jimmy could tell us his idol came to the same conclusion and wrote an article about Lustig's advice too. The thing is, Lustig's advice about buying at least ten scratch-offs is based on purchasing ten $20 tickets with a 1 to 2.34 hit ratio. It's not very good advice to a $1 a ticket player or someone buying one $20 ticket, but pretty good advice for someone who can afford to blow a few thousand.

I thought about blowing a few thousand just that way, but after careful consideration I decided that playing a smaller consistent amount on draw games instead of $20. scratchers would be a BETTER investment.
