After this latest megamillions drawing and seeing how a couple states had multiple second prize winners of $1,000,000 (Georgia being one of them on top of the jackpot ticket????) and my state Pennsylvania had zero 2nd place winners "again" I think something somewhere is rigged. I used to play a couple of my numbers and a couple qp's. Now I'm just going to play my numbers period.

And how is it the 2nd prize winners (20 this latest drawing and 12 I believe in the last) none of them had a multiplier? Sorry, but it just seems a bit odd to me.

I would love to know if the winner in California had a qp that matched the one in Georgia or did he/she too have his own numbers?

It's hard to say it is rigged but I don't think it is true random number picking.  I too noticed that the second place 2 tickets wins were won in California, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, and New York, the normal winning states.  But, I have to say Pennsylvania was on a roll as far as having alot of wins vs. other states that normally have no winners at all.  I play more of my own numbers vs. qp's and my own chase drawing to drawing numbers.

The woman in Georgia picked her own numbers from what I've read. Your complaint does not have a leg to stand on.
Consider that last year the biggest JP was won by 3 individuals from different States. What would be your response to that sir?
In fact people started naming their babies after a one infamous Haitian female named " Mirlande" came forward claiming  to be one of the winners.

I'm not complaining, I just find it strange/odd as to where the winners are from regarding the second place prize and how those states each received 2 winners each, and even more strange to me is how none of them had a multiplier. Is it me or ?????

Just curious is all, I'm very happy for all the winners.

Since more than 259 millions combinations(the possible combinations of a 5/75+1/15 matrix) were sold, it's only reasonable to conclude that duplicates were sold.

From a very casual observation (have no data to back this up), it seems like as the jackpot grows larger more people stop playing the megaplier.  I assume they buy more tickets in pursuit of the jackpot rather than spending money on multipliers.

Interesting mrcraft, I never thought about it that way.  Less tickets per person may = multipliers vs. more tickets = no multipliers.

Perhaps you right, but if you do a search of some past winners you will find some coming out of Iowa,  Ohio & one even from the Virgin Islands.
That tells me that the lottery is pure chance. The folks who put this matrix together were no idiots,  these guys had mathematicians in on this making sure that they could get " screwed less but at the same time doing major screwing"  to the betting public. There were those, myself included who felt that people would not fall for this new matrix, but it seems the veil has been lifted, people will continue to play regardless of the odds.

It's just sales, no conspiracy. States with more sales have more winners.

Actually, last draw was pretty fair in that many low selling states had some 2nd prize winners: (luck won out over probability)

And once again regardless of the state you live in, the odds are same for everybody.  I could care less which "state" is the winner.

Thumbs Up Good point. Some people might mistakenly think, "Oh gee, CA and NY have more winners, I need to move there to have a better chance!" Uhhh...nope. No matter where you go, no matter what demographic you are, the odds are the same. Wherever you go, there you are.

This is not quite the same, but almost as bad as, "Oh gee, the Jackpot is really big and I have a better ROI if I play now!" Uhhh...nope. Your chances of winning are still slim to none regarless of the ginormous jackpot, and you can only expect a few cents on the dollar return.

Oh I see the light now. And to think I was gonna drive to N.J and N.Y to buy 5 QP's in 5 different locations in each state to better my chances lol
