Here is what i would do below.

1> Sign the ticket and get out of my house and go to a hotel for a few days.

2> Hire tax, lawyers, and have a bank of Cayman rep fly in to take part of this process.

3> Claim the ticket anonymous with trust account to hide my identity.

4> Move all the winnings out of the USA to Cayman Islands. Leave about 10 Million in the USA for investments.

5> Rent this ww.bluestarjets.com/?page=aircrafts&gallery=jumbo-private-jets#gallery and take my family and few friends with me somewhere to the Caribbean  long vacation.. Avoid the <snip> TSA and lines..

6> Find a home to buy or have one built.

7> Finally retire and go fishing..

sorry to burst your bubble but you should know about the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Account_Tax_Compliance_Act

        http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/Corporations/Foreign-Account-Tax-Compliance-Act-(FATCA)

In a nutshell, offshore banks are required to report all your financial information to the IRS.

            Claiming my winnings "tax-free"..................

I know people that you all say it's not possible.

            We shall see.

I'd donate 2 million dollars to Todd as a bribe to prohibit any LP member to start a thread that is akin to something like,  "What would you do If you won:" to a limit of no more than 5 times a week. Green laugh

                Hee hee, lol

The impossibility or improbability I should say, of what people think about your "tax-free" scenario is the least of your problems. lol

"We shall see?"    As if it's a "given" and you're NOT concerned FIRST, about beating the astronomical odds, but more concerned about proving your tax thing. lol

Why anticipate scenarios that have about a 1% chance of happening? Stressing over things that don't exist is not healthy. If I ever stress, it's mostly to do with important issues. Tangible, real life scenarios, not some mirage on the horizon.

Would you think I'm crazy If I spent an unhealthy amount of time, and both mental and financial resources every week planning what I'd do, had I survived an asteroid hitting me on the head?

They'd cart me away in a straight jacket. Crazy

Know what they call people who try to get out of paying taxes?

You kiddin' me? I been with crazy wimmins mosta my natural born life! I admit, I was a little crazy my ownself in my younger years when all I lived for was to drink, make whoopy and fight. But most of them barfights commenced on accounta them crazy wimmins startin' 'em. Most of 'em started cuzza my style of dancin'. See, I invented a slow dance called "The Tennessee Grind" and all the wimmins in the bar wanted me to teach it to 'em. And my wimmins didn't cotton to it much. But long story short, I'm now an older, more refined, more distinguished, southern gentleman.
