I play 2 states, Missouri and Illinois, I'm 5-10 minutes from Illinois, depending on the highway traffic.

I know the trip was probably a waste of gas. I don't really plan on doing that very often, but I felt like a car ride and I had some time to kill today. I got to drive through Detroit on my way and I always like seeing the old buildings there. If I somehow by chance do win, I will make the ride worth it. That game prize is outrageous and having a Michigander winning it will force Ohio to change the game lol

The odds are so much so that you will not win so I don't see the need to add extra to the outgoing amount. I always stop at gas stations that are on my route.

We could all win the lottery today!

From my part of New Jersey, just 5 miles from the George Washington Bridge, I drive 10 miles up Knickerbocker Rd to the Rockland County NY State line to avoid the horrendous toll on the GWB. But I have been trying to figure out how to play in Pennsylvania. The closest route to the PA state line is about 70 miles one way anyway I cut it. Route 80-Delaware Water Gap route, NJ Turnpike to PA turnpike to Bristol PA route, Route 1 thru Trenton to PA line, or aiming for Matamoras PA via many routes (speed wise, going NY Thruway to I-84 is quickest travel time, according to googlemaps) If I find myself in NYC, I have run a few miles up I-95 to the Connecticut state line, but that stretch of road is notoriously hellish traffic-wise!

Two years ago, on a Thursday we happened to be driving from NJ to Virginia via Nj Turnpike and Route 13. I played in Delaware, Maryland, and Virgina for multiple draws, covering each day of the long weekend we spent in Hampton/Newport News. Figured I'll hit SOMETHING. I could collect when we drove back on Monday, right? I played a wide variety of games. Okay, i confess: I put a few dollars on just about every game. Even played weeks ahead on those that would let me, what the hell.... Checked the forums on here for each state beforehand for expert picks, I bought some scratchers in each state, plus I Quick Picked my ass off! Not a RED CENT! Nah Dah! Amazing odds - AGAINST me, that is! Later that summer we flew to Florida to take a week long cruise. Not only did I play in NJ to cover the week, I played in Florida for the 7 days we'd be out to sea. Both states - all my personal favorites and many of the LP recommendations for both states. Zero hits. Zip. Zilch.

Seems so simple: three digits, 168 to one odds when boxed... all you have to do is pick the right ones!

64 miles, from Las Vegas to Nipton, CA, this was before Primm existed and Nipton was the closest place for people from Vegas to play lotto.

When MM and PB weren't in the same states, 54 miles to go to Perryville, MO from where I live in IL to play PB.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Back in the late 80's or early 90's the PB jackpot was up around 100 mill. A group of us at work all chipped in 10 bucks for tickets. I was elected to buy the tix. Maryland didn't have PB so I had to go to Stewartstown, Pa. to get them, about a 45 minute drive. I got to the store at 7:15 AM. There was a line. The store opened at 8:00 AM. I finally got my tix at 2:15 PM., left the store and went right to work for a 3:30 PM start. 80 tix, we didn't get one single #. When I left the line was twice as long as when I first got there. I said to myself, "You people are gonna be here awhile".

List Pick 3 singles by low sums, high sums. Separate each sum row by consecutive pair and non consecutive pair combos. These 3 pair groups. 14 17 47, 25 28 58, 36 39 69 are in 63 combos. 54 combos do not have them. Which sums do the 3 pair groups appear and not appear? Look at root sum groups 147, 258, 369. Play accordingly.

your neighbor should be getting tickets from around the bay area now. Two big jackpots were won from around that area if I recall correctly. May I should drive up there and get some of that good luck ya'll have lol

Sorry Poo Nanny, I was commenting about my husband and myself wasting gas. We make those trips quit frequently. Especially during the warmer months.

This past NFL season, we travelled to Delaware nearly every Saturday to play in their Lottery sponsored NFL challenge games. It was fun. I cashed in a little money, but lost more than I won.

So gas and lottery losses just don't add up to success. It adds up to fun, but not financial success.

Just an eye opener for me, which does not mean I won't do it again.

Sometimes I have to drive to nearby states for my job(Maine, CT, New York, N,J) so when I do I like to play their megabucks, and lotto. I always make sure to get an advance play for as many drawings as I can. We have the PB and MM here in Mass so there's no reason to drive to far.

A couple years back when the MM jackpot was like 650M I lived in Tallahassee and Florida didn't have mega millions yet so I drove 45 minutes each way to Georgia and back. Bought 30 tickets. I ended up being late for work because I didn't anticipate how many people would actually be waiting in line to buy tickets, I had never saw that before.

You gotta be in it to win it.
