This is an interesting discussion. Me and my mom have hashed this one out many times.  I live by the rule that if I can find it in the Bible, and it specifically calls it out, then I will leave it alone.  However, I do not believe in a specific church doctrine.  The Bible is infallible, man is not.  Too many "pet sins" creep in to doctrine and some how get taught as God's word. Any way, one of my main problems with people calling the lottery a sin is that most of them are doing the same thing in a different way.  Many church members and pastors play the stock market.  What is the difference in putting down money on a stock hoping to gain, when you run the risk of losing it all?  Or...or how about those cake walks for the youth group project?  Maybe buying raffle tickets for your childs school to make money for computers. I just don't see the difference.

Please ask the rich of the USA that send jobs overseas, or that hide their money In banks outside the USA. This country was not built on religion, it was built on greed.

Don't you ever get tired of spewing your wealth envy?

    I know I do.

How would you go about defining " True Christians?" For instance would you say True Christians don't smoke cigarettes,  how about consumers alcohol?
      Your answer would be?

They word says everything in the Earth belongs to God, even the paycheck you make at work. The Tithe is Lord's, the rest is yours to be responsible with. IF you don't tithe, then you are essentially robbing God...meaning HE can't open other doors here in the earth as blessings. NOW THE LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil, but I don't think that loving INCREASE is. If you win hitting the cash 4 or 3 or mega or powerball....that Tithe (10%) needs to go to God. Happy Winning everyone...oh and religion is different from Relationship. That's is what the Bible teaches....having a relationship with God, not being religious.

Thats funny, my paycheck says it belongs to Wells Fargo.

You dont tithe God.  God doesn't use or need money.

          You tithe a church.

When I win, my money might go to the church of Anton Lavey or the Latter Day Saints.Evil Looking

If man writes the Bible, does not the Bible than become infallible?

Last time I looked, God didn't use a typewriter.

Well, if that's true, then your incessant whining sure seems to be changing things, huh? <snicker>

God will not supply your greed, it is the need he takes care of.  Not based on what you want but what is needed.  Your idea of need may be far different than the lords.  Intent is what you probably should think about, what would you really take care of with a large lottery win, yourself or someone elses needs.  The couple who won millions in the PB from Iowa are doing alot of good would you?  dld7763 God bless and good luck.
