What? I'm loony tunes if I'd quit playing after winning something like an $18 mil jackpot after taxes?
That's plenty for me, let someone else have a fair shot at a jackpot!
You're so looney that you don't even understand what I was referring to. The mere fact that you believe it's easy because some idiotic winner who doesn't have a freaking clue about the odds of the game said so. If that wasn't bad enough, you also believe the reason the winner didn't play again was because he/she wanted to allow others to win, as If he/she could win the JP with no effort. Are you people on drugs?

The winners I talked to said they no longer played anyone because it wouldn't be fair to other players if they kept winning & they believed they could again. I think they won a $52 million jp & ended up with around $18 mil after taxes. That's a decent amount, I wouldn't feel the need to play anymore after winning something like that.
You should stop talking to a stupid people. In case you're confused, anyone who tells you its easy to win a game with odds of 10 million to 1 or even worse is stupid.

These so called winners that you spoke too seems a kind bunch, not wanting to take more than they already have- which begs the questions....
" Why did you not ask them for their tips on how to go about winning the lottery given that it's so easy for these folk?
Why did you not go on bended knee and implore them to " set you free from the daily grind of 9-5 or whatever?"
Looking back...l think you blew it, and to think you call yourself " the Prince!"

How many people win a jackpot/second tier per year? What are the odds? Where do you live? How many tickets do you buy per draw? I have been playing the lottery for over 15 years, so I would say yes to still impossible to win the lottery.
I forgot one, why do you have to wait for a ton of people to play the lottery for one ticket to win? Mmmmmmm
Hi Bigbear29,
To answer some of your questions I have no idea how many people win a second tier jackpot per year and ever since the matrix for MM changed to 75 balls it has brought about far less 2nd place winners. The reason I even play MM on occasion is in the hopes of a secondary prize since I always play with the multiplier with the extra dollar and a person could have a chance of winning from 2 to 5 million ( though after taxes it's much less). The odds of getting a second place win on MM is 18,492,204 which are still terrible odds. Since the odds are so bad I rarely play MM anymore. I live in Mass. I buy just one ticket for Powerball with the powerplay and one ticket for lucky for life ( a draw game played in 6 states) and on occasion play MM. I don't play every draw but the main reason I still play is just to be in the game should I ever win. I know the odds are stacked against me but I just want to play to give myself a chance regardless of the astronomical odds. I think many of us know the chances of ever being able to retire from the lottery is imposible but since my spending is now minimal I just like to have my daydreams. My problem was when for 3 years I let my lottery spending get out of control. Now that it's been a year with being on budget and my feet are firmly planted on the ground playing now is just more relaxing and I have no illusions of ever winning (but should a miracle occur I would gladly take it, lol). Good luck to you.

Yeah I should have had those winners buy tickets for me with my own money, but back then I didn't know that I was afflicted by the curse of "Can't win."

Long term?????? I think lottery games are going to change, we already have the first change, monopoly game. People are not excited anymore about Mm and Pb. Have you noticed less tv news stories and no long lines to play the lottery.

I think anyone can win... as most of us walk into a store and buy a qp or play our own numbers. Every week a few people win second tier prizes that makes it worth playing. I agree that depending on the lottery as a way to fund retirement without another financial plan isn't smart. I have also taken my own advice as I now just play PB, $12 a week. I'm playing for matching 5/6 thats my personal goal.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if most people still believe that even if you play the lottery for years that it's impossible to win a jackpot? It seems way more likely to lose big time than to win a jackpot ever (especially when you take the odds of MM & PB into consideration). Since I've kept myself on a strict budget over a year ago I can afford to play for the long haul but realistically know it's going to be even harder for me to win because I stopped playing scratch tickets and only buy the draw tickets and 1 ticket per draw when I play.
I still think the big spenders have more of an advantage when it comes to the lottery but after reading many posts here it still seems nearly impossible for even those big spenders to win something really big. I am glad I've been realistic about my chances of winning the lottery but at the same time it's quite depressing to know I will never be able to retire.
Greetings shyguitar
You raise a very interesting question.
Personally, it appears to be common practice in human nature to often repeat any activity in order to sharpen skills improve results. By learning from past mistakes we strive to do better next time. So unless someone is actually improving results by a unknown methodology then it's rote repeat with very high likelihood of another failure and another dollar poorer for the efforts. Pro tempore, ancient Roman solution leaving it to Deus ex machina i.e. gods of chance - whereby an improbable solution, artificially introduced to resolve a difficulty, untangle another most difficult Gordian knot or lottery
Perhaps the dream of a seemingly low cost risk to ridiculous returns has just too much temptation for people to resist down through the ages LOL
