Where do you see hypocrisy in people scratching their had that someone bails someone else out who was in jail or possession of 8000 bags of heroin, amongst other charges?

Because: In the same situation they would do the same thing she is.

A mind once stretched by a new idea never returns to its original dimensions!

Marie Holmes made national headlines last February after winning a massive $188 million Powerball jackpot. After taxes, she walked away with an $88 million lump sum payment. Despite coming into a substantial amount of wealth, her boyfriend Lamarr McDow can’t seem to live his life right by the law and has been in and out of jail.

Lamarr was able to post a $3 million bond back in March (thanks to his girl, no doubt) after going to jail for heroin charges.

He was re-arrested during a raid in July for violating his pre-trial release. He posted a $6 million bond at that time.

On December 26th, Lamarr got arrested again on a misdemeanor charge of conspiring to arrange a street race. He was booked under a $12 million bond — which he posted.

His bonds are skyrocketing because the amount automatically doubles if a defendant breaks the rules of a pre-trial release, local attorneys told WECT. The non-refundable fee paid to bail bondsmen who bail out an inmate usually amounts to roughly 10% of the total bond amount.

We’re sorry, but Marie is dumb as hell and clearly doesn’t she deserve all that money. WHY would she waste it on a criminal…repeatedly?

It's obvious you don't much about posting bail, but that's probably a good thing. If McDow makes all his court dates and after his guilt, innocence, or whatever is determined, Holmes will get back the bail money.

"Marie is dumb as hell and clearly doesn’t she deserve all that money"

Who appointed you to determine who deserves and who doesn't deserve to win jackpots or are you just suggesting lotteries should cheat and screen players that bring in winning lottery tickets?

I have no idea why she helps her boyfriend, but an intelligent guess is that he is the "baby daddy".

No she does not deserve that money!  There are a lot of good people in this world that deserve to win the lottery.  No one who has kids and keeps drugs and a drug dealer in her house.

She does deserve it because she won it.  What any lottery winner does with their money is not our business.

I think she is slow and is being used by Hot Sauce and some other people.

Just because someone wins the lottery does not mean they deserve it.  If someone wins the lottery of cancer or aids, do they deserve it?  That's her kid deserve to have a heroin drug dealer as a father?  Does the kids deserve that?

I'm beginning to think it's not even all about picking the correct numbers, I think being incredibly dumb is a requirement to win lol.  There are some exceptions such as Brad Duke, but the vast majority seem to be complete idiots who want to keep living ghetto fabulous or keep up with the Kardashians LOL.

When the average education and income of lottery players is below average it is reasonable to expect that many lottery winners might not be well equipped to handle a large amount of money. 2012 study from researchers at the University of Buffalo, also published in the Journal of Gambling Studies:

                    • Those in the lowest fifth in terms of socioeconomic status (SES) had the “highest rate of lottery gambling (61%) and the highest mean level of days gambled in the past year (26.1 days).” Moreover, there were “very few observed differences in lottery gambling for those in the three upper SES groups — 42–43% gambled on the lottery and the three upper groups averaged about 10 days of gambling on the lottery in the past year.”

Given that the expected loss playing the lottery is about 50%, I'm not sure that being incredibly dumb is just limited to those who win.  Those who play the exclusively low max prize contests, such as pick 3 or pick 4 will never win a big enough jackpot to overcome even a modest $20/wk in ticket purchases.  Lotteries like the Pick 3 grind people down like Vegas does with low payout table games except much more quickly due to the huge house advantage in the lottery.

It takes a contest that offers a prize greater than your expected lifetime lottery purchases to give someone the possibility of winning enough money on one ticket to avoid a lifetime of losses.  But the odds of larger prizes like that are not conducive to many lifetime bettors hitting them.
