Obviously when I purchase a lottery ticket, I want to win.

Most of the time I am happy for the winner but sometimes, not so much. The following list (in no particular order), is who I'd rather not see win the top prize of a major jackpot:

1). Someone who has never played (or claims they have never played), the lottery before.

2). A child rapist.

3). A drug addict.

4). Anyone under 35 or over 80.

5). Anyone who is already a multimillionaire or, their offspring.

6). Anyone who says they plan to give it all to charity.

7). One who is smug, entitled, holier than thou (you know the type).

8). A stupid person.

9). A compulsive gambler.

If I give it more thought, I may be able to come up with another type of person that I would rather not see win a major lottery jackpot. My list is just what I came up with at the top of my head. I am generally a happy, optimistic person who tends to focus on the positive.

I got my inspiration for this post from reading a reply I read on another post.

Good Luck everyone!

Whether you like it or not,the types of people you listed, their money is as viable as yours.

Hypothetically,if you started trimming of the kind of undesirables from playing the lottery in your world, the jackpots won't be as large.

Think about this point, there'll be lots of people with more money than sense who will no doubt be collectively spending millions to get this $1.5 billion.

They also have as much right as you to crack the big one.

I want to see a hard working person win.  The last person I want to see win any money in the lottery is a welfare recipient.  Our tax dollars support those people so they shouldn't be allowed to spend MY tax dollars on lottery tickets!

But if a person on welfare did win, their windfall would indirectly generate employment.

In my opinion, many(not all) younger (20 somethings)adults would blow it on partying and "life in the fast lane."

Older people who are more settled tend to be more grounded and responsible, in my opinion.

I extended it to 35 for good measure. - Time to build more character! Smile

When I was 16 I thought I was so mature and thought I knew all that I needed to know. The younger me may even have been offended by the older me stating that I am less then thrilled when a really young adult wins.

Now that I'm older and well educated, I have come to the conclusion that I actually know very little! LOL

Even an 80 year old still has dreams.

Wouldn't you rather see a welfare recipient win and get off welfare funded by taxpayers than a multimillionaire or billionaire?

How do you feel about foreigners winning then?

                          I resent this. I'm 34.
